Got our mortgage lien release in the mail on Saturday. So we’re back to owing nobody anything since first contracting this stupidly huge house in 2014 woohoo!

Well other than freaking taxes that is since you don’t get out of those even if you die

Nicely done. Dave Ramsey says the grass feels different once you own your home 100%.

BTW, since you are a great candidate for the program, I am sending someone to talk to yall about reverse mortgages this week. You're welcome.

Soooooo I’d be lying if I said I didn’t bring it up to the wife at some point. But not for years down the road.

We have no children other than our pets. And it’s written in our wills that whomever takes on the burden of our pets at the time of our demise will be rewarded for their efforts.

It’s absolutely stupid for us to go to our final reward with a million dollar + property and a million + in the bank. I’ve told our financial planner the same thing. Her point is correct right now. We’re still quite young for retirement so we need to play a little defense right now.

But eventually we need to open the spigot on the pretax accounts and either sell this property and downsize to pull equity out or look at means to pull it out. I really couldn’t care less what happens to it after we’re gone.

I have no concerns for pull out strategy for any man who doesn't have children.

I'm available to be a beneficiary. Any of you old coots that need someone to leave your fortunes to, I'm willing to accept that burden.

Here's a first:
Random dude walked to my front door. Dogs going wild. He's covered in blood, scraps, and a huge shiner below an eye. He was riding his mini bike, got distracted and ran into our brick mailbox. He was headed to his friend's house down the road.

He didn't want an ambulance. Didn't want me to call family. Just wanted to get to his buddy's. So we loaded up the bike in the truck and I took him there.
