The Peter Principle is real. Some guys are very good at what they do at one level, and it doesn't work at the next. A lot of times good coaches don't even work out in lateral moves. I've never believed in "sure things" when it comes to head coaches because there are way too many counter examples. Too many times "great coaches" are simply in the right place at the right time. I'd probably break football coaching into two parts with a Defense and an Offense coach and an off the field manager/administrator to keep things like the staffing and roster in balance.

Was pretty unexpected at least by me.

On more current events I’m almost pulling for LSU tonight because I really don’t want us playing a desperate Tigers team trying to stay above .500 would have trap game written all over it. But watching both of these teams I think we’re playing better ball than both of them. And if the mildcats don’t get their act together and play better than they did today we’ll smoke them too

I don’t put near that much thought into it. Don’t care who wins I just want them to beat the **** out of each other.

I checked in on the AR Bama game (4th quarter). At least one team makes our defense look somewhat competent. Hard to believe the long Bama runs with nobody around.

The Bama linebacker who shall not be named looks like he's picked up some dirty playing habits from Satan's gang. Guess that happens when you go over to the dark side.

Ok, gotta do a little grandpa brag, my heart just swelled.

Son dropped of the grandkids for the night, my 5yo granddaughter comes out on the deck and sits down beside me watching the LSU/AU game. 10 minutes she pats me on the leg and said “looks like we’ll stomp them“ gets up and goes inside.
