Official Gramps' Memorial Eternal OT Thread

Was just sitting around with my wife and son answering trivia questions generated on ChatGPT.

Type in a topic and it will generate 5 questions.

Typed in "Tennessee Volunteers football trivia", and here is question #4.
4. Which former Tennessee Volunteers quarterback won the Heisman Trophy in 1997?

Even AI knows Peyton was the real winner.

We are leaving for South Tahoe next Friday. Any suggestions in that area? Well be there for 2 weeks.
Of course that is adjacent to Stateline, NV, with the casinos. Haven't spent much time there. Took a day trip down from Squaw to ski Heavenly one time about 25 years ago. It's right on the south shore of the lake. It's far more commercial than the places up north.

I will gladly donate my shots (it’s not a vaccine) to someone else that feels they need it to protect themselves or others from a virus with a 99% survival rate.

Or I would consider a reasonable trade. Baseball cards, original lawn dart set, Buc-ees beaver nuggets.
Ok……I have to speak on this……I just don’t get……the Buckees love. It’s a ****ing truck stop. Why are people buying and wearing hoodies and T shirts. It’s like repping the circle K. I don’t want gas station brisket anymore than I want to eat gas station sushi, to discount bundgiee jump, or try to baptized a house cat.

But I digress

Gas station sushi stops Covid better than the shot and boosters. That’s the point I was making.

I really enjoy the wall-o-jerky.

I've never been, but I've been told Bucees doesn't actually allow the semi trucks. It's regular vehicles and passenger cars.

From my co-workers that have been, they've told me the brisket sandwich isn't just good, it's special.

For this part of the country, the Brisket is good. If you go to Texas, the brisket is just average....

Clean restrooms, good food, good service, good prices, not trying to rip you off.

It's everything the Haslams have screwed up with Pilot.

Ya,
I’m sure the fat rednecks I see wearing the swag are authorities on quality food.

Hard pass

It doesn't allow semi's, our drivers try to park on the outskirts and sneak in. I tried the brisket sandwich, I could cook a better brisket in the oven. Only good I have found is some of the jerky and clean bathrooms.

We are going for the pro-am golf tournament. Will drive around the lake, been looking for some hiking trails.

@SpaceCoastVol

2 oz Springbank 10 year
0.5 oz rich simple*
3 dashes angostura bitters (Angostura)
2 dashes black walnut bitters (Fee Brothers)
2 dashes orange bitters (Regans no 6)

Stir it generously. Strain over ice. Peel of orange. Squeeze the zest from the peel through a lit match over the drink.

**2:1 ratio of sugar to hot water. Stir until sugar dissolves and refrigerate for a few hours before use. You'll know you got it right when the syrup drips instead of pours.

It's a good ****ing drink. Ole Smoky.
Sorry I missed this bruddah. I'll give it a try when I can put the ingredients together. I don't know Springbank, but I will see if I can get some. Any substitute you would recommend if I cant get it?

Laphroaig Cairdeas, Benriach, Benromach 10.

Unfortunately the Campbelltown scotches are on the rarer side. Fortunately, since we're making a cocktail with it, you have some play.

For this one, any sherry cask expression from Islay, Campbelltown, or even Lowland should suffice.

Finally got a chance to work on the boat electronics now that I’m out of the full hand splint. The only piece I had left to install was the Mercury engine gateway. It turned out really cool here is my console display after I’ve got it modified on panel sizes and data setup. I’m pretty happy with it I’ve got all of the important info on top right at eye level and my nav map below that. That is a 12” diagonal display.
