I think a bunch of people are of the same mind as Bammers with Dabo some years ago. They're gonna take a coach that's already building a program that's winning to start over a rebuilding process at a school that's at least two to five years away from being competitive? Not that Bama would have needed to be rebuilt, but UF and FSU will.
Kiff is doing great on the NIL, transfer portal and recruiting efforts at Ole Miss. And with the lack of Saban, there's a power void in the old SEC West. In honesty, there's really only three coaches that are moving to fill the void in the SEC left by his retirement, Heupel, Sark and Kiffin. Smart is already established and is the "heir apparent" to Saban. But with the 12 team playoff and any given Saturday, other coaches have the chance to move into the driver's seat.
And no, I don't think DeBoer is "that guy" in regards to being the next Saban. Right now, he's playing with Saban's talent. Let's see where he's at next year or year after.
Regardless, I don't see Kiffin leaving Ole Miss just because Florida or FSU comes open. First, there's a LOT of money at Ole Miss that can (and will) pay to keep him as HC. Second, he has a distinct lack of competition except the coaches I named already. Third, he's already starting building the program he wants and is winning. There is nothing Florida or FSU is going to offer that would change the above facts.
