Official Gramps' Memorial Eternal OT Thread

Gotta disagree there. With the exception of getting fired at USC by being left on the tarmac he has won everywhere he’s gone. (ETA oh and the Raiders. He absolutely sucked there) And he was a moron to take the USC job with what they were facing from the NCAA but it was his dream job. Now that he’s got that stupidity out of his system he approaches the job I think in a much more pragmatic way. He clearly has matured with age and experience and still be able to keep his swagger and brashness. And his players love it and respond to it. Don’t get me wrong I’m not a Kiffin fan boy but I can see how he’s matured over time. I’d be shocked if he didn’t coach a team to a natty before his coaching career is over.
His teams win, but they never win the big game.

Kiffin has yet to demonstrate he is anything more than an average coach. He sucked with the Raiders. His one season her was 7-6. Not great. He sucked at USC. Then he went to the Nick Saban School for Rehabilitating Coaches. At FAU, Two of his three seasons there good, but that's Conference USA. He's done okay at Ole Miss. But this is the season we see how good he is. He's loaded up for a playoff run. This is his chance to go from average to good, IMO.

FTR, his SEC record at OM: 4-5, 6-2, 4-4, 6-2.

Right now, he's an average coach.

I see the Titan fans aren't real happy with Levis...

Coulda taken Hooker and kept him in state.
Do i need to pull up Will "mayo coffee" Levis stats at Neyland in his senior season? We absolutely exposed and humiliated him on national TV....4 hours away from the Titans facility on a Saturday night primetime game. Titans proceed to draft the guy 6 months later when Hendo Cinco was available and would have actually put butts in seats being a UT guy. Inexplicable idiocy....the Panthers Special as Carolina fans know the phenomenon.

Levis vs UT stats:
16/27 pass. 98yds. 3INT.

Thats the whole game. Sadly Levis despite being a low IQ mayo-weirdo nerd is probably actually a better pro prospect than the 5ft10in 165lb Bammer QB which the Panthers drafted, even though they had the no1 pick...which actually cost them 2 (two) 1st round picks+ both of which ended up being no1 overall draft picks 2 years in a row. Couple 2nd rounders too..
..yes I am serious...so in total the Panthers gave up/lost out on several players that should have been every down starters on their reduced rookie pay scales. See: Detroit Lions, Chicago Bears.

The meltdown of the Panthers organization began with the idiotic trade of Christian McCaffrey to San Francisco, and the resident Panthers fans on Volnation were largely cheering every stupid roster move as they happened. I have very little sympathy for them.

In fairness to the Panthers fans, Chris "part time" McCaffrey missed big chunks of nearly every season for the Panthers and could never stay healthy. When healthy, he is the best RB in the NFL and is the best receiving RB ever. Dude had 100 catch, 1000yd receiving seasons(Probowl WR stats) where he lead the league in yards from scrimmage. His problem is that he is SO good that coaches wear him out when he is healthy both rushing and receiving on nearly every down. He just cant stay healthy, hes on the IR list right now and will miss at least 4 games. The Panthers got massive draft capital for CMC and got out from under his massive backloaded contract. They then proceeded to inexplicably throw away those extra 1st and 2nd round picks to move up from pick9 to pick1 in the 1st round and the dumbazz owner wasted all that on the Bammer QB who sucks again this season. After the addition of 3 new starters on the Oline and 2 new WRs. Still can't see over the Olinemen so he throws picks ...and unlike at Bama, his Olinemen and skill players arent all 5* guys which are head and shoulders above the defense trying to stop him. Fwiw...I am 5ft10in and 180lbs myself. I played HS ball at his size and can empathize...I really want him to succeed. I think last season and this winless so far season may ruin the guy though, like so many lottery pick QBs before him. He may never get the confidence and players around him to succeed. Panthers ownership needs to quit micromanaging the front office and let the GM and Coaches do their jobs and build a decent roster IMO. Tepper sucks and Panthers fans hate him.

Did yall know that Sampson is halfway to the UT single season rushing TD record after only 3 games?!? He should definitely break that record this season. Especially when we make the playoffs...may reset the record much higher than it is now IMO. If he keeps running like he is now, we may lead the SEC in rushing again also. G0 VOLS. So excited about our team right now headed into Norman.

Norman isn't so excited about seeing us come in now. The fans are a bit worried.
