Cant tell if you had a stroke, or went full LG on us? Never go full LG...

And to think this is where I come for R&R. The wife is in a real snit. She fell with a full cup of coffee, and you wouldn't believe how much one cup of coffee can cover. The first issue was she couldn't get up, but the real one is she can't get along. I'd be willing to bet she was getting out of her chair with coffee in hand - I've told her too many times to count to get up and then pick up what you plan to move. But not her. And somehow it's always my fault. Sorry, but sometimes you just gotta vent.

You realize Kristofferson was a military brat, too - AF. So were the Smothers brothers and John Denver among others. Maybe there's the thing about being uprooted and getting restarted every few years that brings out the best and creativeness in some people ... and stubbornness and independence in some of the rest of us. I've heard many times "that must have been terrible", but I wouldn't have traded that start in life for anything.

You were at Loring as I recall?

Vent here as much as you need, friend.

Yep. From what my Dad told me, he turned down an appointment to West Point. His dad wanted him to go but he didn't. To be a Rhodes Scholar is the pinnacle of academic excellence...a free ride all inclusive to Oxford, the most prestigious univ in England. Then to be athletically gifted enough to play college ball, musically talented and had a good singing voice, and was blessed to be a handsome dude too. Seems like God literally made the dude good at everything. Most people would kill to be any 1 of those things, and he had them all. He may have been miserable most his life and never truly been happy though...I have no idea. He was sure blessed with enough gifts to make a car full of extremely fortunate people though. I am trying to think if I know of anyone else blessed in that many ways. I will say Josh Dobbs is smart enough to be an aerospace engineer that interned at Pratt n whitney, visited NASA etc...and talented enough to make it in the NFL now for a half dozen years or so. He was surely blessed as well. Shoot I was happy both my kids were born with all their fingers and toes etc. My kids are 1000x better than I ever deserved, and have never given us any trouble whatsoever. Got super blessed on that one...twice. Thank you, Lord. Bad teenagers might have been the death of me.

Ever know somebody that it seems like God made them just excellent in nearly every way?

^^^ that dude was so smart he was a Rhodes Scholar. So tiny fraction maybe .00001% scholastic wise. A genius. Played college football in div3 or something.. Wrote several Billboard #1 hits including "Me and Bobby McGee" recorded by other people..also "Sunday morning coming down" Had a damn good singing voice himself and was a pretty good guitar player...and no-homo dude was an absolute pimp that literally could sleep with the most beautiful women in the world, 1 after the other. Was lucky enough to go from clean cut college kid to California hippie making music and smoking dope back in the 60s/early 70s when San Francisco was likely the best place to be living on planet Earth.Hung out with Willie, Waylan, and Johnny then made a super group with them . That dude lived enough good life for a dozen men that were 100% winners themselves. I bet he could tell stories for days and days. Rest in peace K.K.

^^ this is from memory and i am sure i left out all kinds of stuff. My Dad was a huge fan of him and his buddies and we used to listen to all those records. I am sure his obituary/wiki has lots more about this dude. He was one lucky guy that much is for sure.
I think he was a helicopter pilot in Vietnam as well. One of the most talented individuals ever. If they did a movie about someone who accomplished everything he did they would edit it for being too unrealistic.

So with what is happening in my hillbilly homeland I wanted to find somewhere to donate focused on East TN. I found this org. I did some research and they show 95% efficiency of revenue to relief. Good enough for me to make sure the money stays in East TN

But the products are well preserved. I got some donuts the wife likes some time ago, they didn't get eaten, and I kept forgetting them when the garbage went out. Now I'm just curious to see how long they can go mold free just hanging around. Just checked and the package says best by some time in May - no mold - they are in the box and sitting on a countertop. I forgot to toss some hamburger buns when leaving the other house earlier in the year - left them sitting on the stove. It was at least three months before we got back. One bun was green; the other two in the same package looked perfect. On the other hand a potato bag was leaking, so maybe not everything will kill us if eaten soon enough.

Got a text message this morning when i got on the interstate to go to work in Charlotte:

ALL ROADS west of I-77 in NC are closed except for emergency vehicles.

Thats about 40% of the state maybe? 77 runs north/south (duh) right through the center of Charlotte. All roads west of charlotte are closed. I have friends trying to get government approval to deliver and cook massive amounts of food...to feed hundreds of people repeatedly. So far they have been unable to get the approval to head west and help. Western NC is completely destroyed in many places guys. Never seen anything like it.
