He is interested in coaching in college. With a solid D cord. I think he would be an excellent hire.

I know very little about him, but I'll take him over what we've got now (or names like Cutcliffe, Tuberville, and Petrino) in a heartbeat.

Again, I've been mentioning this guy since we lost to KY last year. If we go coordinator, he's the one I want.

I like this. He's proven at both levels. And it's been proven that coaches from under Harbaugh tend to be successful. Plus he runs a hard nosed pro style offense.

He would be behind only Jon Gruden on my wish list. Both are pipe dreams though.

I keep seeing people suggest Del Rio, but that does not seem realistic at this point. At least Roman has tried to get into the college game as a HC. If Gruden says no, I say try Patterson and then Roman.

Greg Roman's expertise is his offensive line, but he loves to run multiple offenses.

I had never even thought about him, but this would be a great hire. If he really wants to get back into the college game as a HC he would be a great choice if Gruden says no.

How much does Roman run the offense with the 49ers? I'm not too familiar with his coaching career but guys that are assistants for strong personality head coaches who like to micro-manage (i.e. Saban, Harbaugh, Belichik) make me nervous. Hard to tell if they are good coaches or they just assist good coaches lol. I don't know if that is the case with Roman but that's just what I think when his name is brought up, or say a Kirby Smart.

Basilio said he would definitely be interested and could be had. Not sure where he got the info but Del Rio and Strong are my 2 behind Gruden. Roman could be another interesting choice, but I honestly dont know much about him.

ummmm why?

Strong, Patterson, Mullen, Freeze, Jones or any experienced winning college Head Coach would be much better IMo.

Its who you can get. How often have HCs went from one SEC school to another directly? I cant believe it happens all that often so Freeze, Mullen forget it. Id be ok with Roman.
