Things are looking really good right now, I dont know specific numbers, but as stated 500 pages ago, things are progressing.

Patience is a virtue.

Wouldn't that be like getting in a bidding war with yourself? It's clear the Haslams are a MAJOR factor behind this...can't see them doing something like that. My (completely useless) feeling is that if they want Gruden, they want him for UT...not the Browns.

Cant' remember where I heard/read it, but someone said Gruden would be even bigger at UT than in the NFL...and I think that's accurate. Very few names would be "bigger" than him in CFB.

There would be Saban. And that's the list.

So something along sales then? Sport equip? Etc. I'm not asking about contacts or the name of business. Just curious is all. Thank you either way.

Lets just say almost every coach and "high ups" in the AD deal with my company for a certain need and leave it at that. I really cannot think of a better way to put it without being obvious. That's why the 3pm thing someone posted yesterday surprised me because there was something we had to get done by 3pm involving a need for something that would point to someone new coming aboard. I know that's vague, but the only way I know to put it.

Didn't say that. I said I agree that the deal may done based on the reaction of those I've talked to. There are many different ways to structure a deal and shuffle the numbers around though. Its possible....and honestly somebody is going to pay that kind of salary soon. Might as well be us

Dang people are touchy on VN today lol. I was just wondering you opinion on it thanks. Everyone needs to relax its out of our control and if it happens it happens.

Question most of us agree if it cost 5 mil a year to get Gruden we do it. What if he says (insert NFL team) is offering 6 mil. Do we pony up for 7? Or at that point do we search elsewhere?

Okay. Thank you for your replies. I would like you know it was curiosity not trolling.

I would think about it differently. Haslam OWNS the Browns now. Which means he makes money from the franchise. He doesnt make any money off of UT, in fact he gives money (loses money) to UT.

He is a very smart business man and if he feels like Gruden is the right man to manage his new investment and make him more money then thats where he would prefer Gruden to be.

That's not a slight to UT, its just being a good businessman.

I'm sorry if it came across coarse. It was not my intention. I was simply trying to answer your question.
