No idea. On one hand you don't want to hire the wrong guy just to save one recruiting class....UT is paying for that right now. On the other hand, our recruiting class right now is really not measuring up.

On second thought if he took the tennessee job and got to work the bowl week work for Louisville is ok IMO.

Because of the possible magnitude of the bowl for the school, and because I think he is a stand up guy.

That being said, Jurich is a no nonsense AD. He may say if you are really interested, there is the door. Who knows?

He was a snake way before he got caught with his on staff hooker. Its been WELL documented.

Have you listened to "everyone else" lately? A Petrino hire would make for a "fun" off season at UT with the only thing quieting it down being some solid wins. I cringe.

You really cant judge the record of a coach at a school like Louisville. Strong is a very good Coach and recruiter and Louisville was in aweful shape when he arrived. Take Saban at Mich St for example. He did absolutely nothing at Mich St, yet LSU saw something and hired him then after losing to UAB on yr he wins a NC. Strong imo would be a great hire. He's defensive minded and I think he could recruit and win here.

I know it's coach speak, but did you hear Strong's interview with Rome about 2 months ago????? He said "I will coach for less at L'ville than go to a bigger program because they gave me a chance when no one else would." He also said "I will never leave L'ville."

That was before he was undefeated, yet only ranked 9 in the country.

He must realize by now that he will never play for a national championship at Louisville no matter what his record is.

And before anybody brings up Petrino having them contending, the big east was a lot different back then. It is an absolute mess now and even adding Boise State will not help.

If he is as ego driven as I suspect, I also wonder if he would be willing to share the state of Alabama with Saban....especially if another option is available.

Not to mention he hasnt exactly had the best luck against Saban and doubt he wants to play and go head to head with him for instate recruits every year. Think he is UK bound. They already have the most low down Hoops Coach in the game they may as well add the football version of him, just not with the success he has had.

Stoops makes 4.93 million would probably take 5.5 mil+ to secure him
Petrino made 3.56 million would probably take 3.5+ to secure him
Stron's AD has said he would match any offer made to strong who currently makes 2.3 million. We would probably have to throw 4+ at him...

I like Stoops but IDK if if like him for 5.5 million a year...JMO
