SOME forgive. Some don't. My point is even if I am wrong that I just don't believe the powers that be would take such a risk considering the cluster muck and pr nightmare we have had down there these last few years.

Agreed. I know some money guys want bobby p if gruden doesn't happen but it might not fly with the admistrator. I ask the question in a thread that i got zero agreement on about boosters having too much power. This was behind that thread. Do some boosters have that much power that its their decision to make on bobby p??

My post is about protest in front of Neyland by the Southern Baptist Convention. I don't agree with what he did, but it is not my place to judge. As a christian, you should give forgiveness if you expect to be forgiven. That's what I was trying to say.

Don't care. He's a piece of shlt who tried to ruin my pro team. He embarrassed the heck out of Arky. I don't want him here. Sometimes you have realize certain people aren't worth trusting, forgiveness has nothing to do with it.

Putting the fidelity issue aside, more troubling are Petrino's actions of hiring his mistress, covering it up, then lying about it when asked. Those are deep-seeded character things that don't just get 'forgiven.' No self-respecting AD would put his job on the line by taking that risk.

If it walks like a duck and quacks like one . . . .

The most troubling issues were the HR blunders that he made. Couple that with the wake he leaves and it is a bigger risk than most are comfortable with.

Why is it so crazy to think Gruden would come here? He hasn't coached in a few years and has no attachment to any teams. Yet people are saying coaches like Stoops and Jimbo Fisher, who are in pretty good situations, seem to love their programs and have pipelines to big-time recruits. I'm not saying they wouldn't consider us if the money was right but they are a bigger stretch than Gruden is imo.

Oh and good morning Grud dudes and dudettes!!

Not knocking any info but if you believe it's only smoke and nothing cooled then why do you think those guys were drumming up the significance of the BOT meeting?
I think all the Grudenites need to form a backup plan mentally as coach or risk being very dissapointed. Even SBV said things cooled. You've essentially got 2 guys left who have said they still feel confident mixed with a whole lot of this BOT is important talk. While others are saying the BOT meeting in and of itself won't do too much.
Assimilate the data yourselves and think about it.

My list:

1 Gruden
2 Petersen (pipe dream)
3 Patterson
4 Strong
5 Petrino (if his reputation hasn't tarnished his ability to recruit)

Pipe Dreams:

1 Kelly
2 Carroll

DO NOT WANT

1 Smart
2 Cut
3 Mullen
4 Gundy
5 Davis
6 Dykes
7 Stoops (I think that he has underachieved)

Bob Stoops seems to have lost his fire and passion a little bit. That could be the result of being at one program for so long but I would consider Stoops a risky hire considering the money he would demand.

I could forgive a theif but I'm not gonna hand him my wallet.

Weren't Petrino's classes consistently ranked below TN's anyways?

This^^^ who cares what kinda strange he gets on the side?! He takes a huge dump on any team he's involved with. Look what he did to the Falcons. He probably ruined any chance of getting back to the NFL. He is a cancer in the worst way and as I've said before, mammas are not gonna want their sons playing for this ass hat.

I have none, but If we wiff on this coaching thing I'm out forever. I'm sooo tired of being embarrassed by this program.

I have been a Vol fan my entire life... begining with attending games in 1967, I have watched us go from a premier program under Dickey to the disaster called Battle to bringing Johnny back, to Fulmer and now.

We have lost nationwide respect maybe, we have fired a NC coach, we have dismissed one of own while recoving from open heart surgery, we hired a young idiot out of the Left coast... we have often disrespected our very best... yet is all this I HAVE NEVER BEEN EMBARRASSED to be a VOL
