Gruden is no Kiffin. He has much higher standards of behavior for himself.
Nope, they got their own new forum just for Gruden.
Return of Gruden Merged
They believe they'll be hiring Gruden today or tomorrow lol
Somebody should sign up and post this...
Duckman runs the site hahaha
Could the possibility of the Gruden to UT date bring 12/17/12 have anything to do with that being the MNF game in Nashville?
What's your take on the whole - Gruden won't take a job until its available arguement?
If true wouldn't it be in UT's best interest to pull the trigger on dooley rather than wait?
I guess I am just aprehensive that if he really felt that way then there is no way he would be in negotiation at this point...
For a couple reasons.
1. Everyone is hoping that this team can make a bowl game. We need the practices and the revenue.
2. Gruden wants his interest in the Tennessee position to not be the reason Dooley was/is fired. The only fair way to evaluate Dooley is to give him every opportunity to prove/not prove himself. So far the plan is playing out like many thought, Dooley would coach himself out of the job and make this a much easier transition.
3. Gruden wants to finish out his MNF tenure with as little "job drama" as possible. The longer Dooley is in his post at TN the longer he doesn't have to answer questions about where he will coach or if he will take the job.
He won't be in the UT coaches offices working until after his MNF commitment is over.
I am believing the information I've heard that he will be announced as our next head coach the week of his last broadcasts.

Here are my honest Grudenite thoughts:
1. The news got out way earlier than was intended.
2. The only way to keep Gruden from having to answer direct questions about the job is to retain Dooley.
3. The only way to keep Petrino or any sitting coach from publicly telling UT "no" (even if they weren't approached) is to keep Dooley.
4. If it is Gruden we are on his announcement time table...which means it makes sense to keep Dooley.
5. I think Gruden has given a list of demands, and that those have been answered with "yes"
These are my thoughts on the timing, and what has happened to this point.
I could be wrong....but I don't think I am.
That's what I keep hearing from my D.C. friends. Me likey!!!!!

And The Post has good beat reporters, but no one nearly as good as La Canfora since he left. I was happy for him when he took the job at the NFL Network, but as a Redskins fan I was bummed because he was the best source of information-a tireless reporter who took no sh!t from Redskins park, and anyone that follows the Redskins knows that is no easy task. Snyder all but cut-off The Washington Post a few years ago, and La Canfora still got news out.
I just think the best way to get rid of the drama would be for him to accept a college position. The drama only ramps up more and more if NFL teams that appear to need a new HC continue to lose, and he is still listed as an available coach looking for work. That stops if his is on the hook for TN-even if he continues to work in the booth.
