This would stop him from coming or he would just hire another oc??

It shouldn't hold up an announcemt unless he isn't coaching without him which makes no sense unless Arkansas or somebody else is going to pay that buyout

Id say the latter. If he wants to come to UT and its not just about $ (which I don't think it is) this shouldn't hold up the deal.

Stuff like "hires like this typically happen in December" which is when MNF is over

Hart emphatically ensures us not to worry and that they have things under control

No search firm....because they don't need it with Gruden on board

He states that there are people that have helped overcome the financial obstacles (the boosters all of our insiders in the Gruden thread claim to be doing work)

Now with all that said I am reaching a bit....but you can see these things if you are looking for them

I thought the press conference was a rebuttal to the issues that we were hearing a week ago. If fact, it was almost like Hart was specifically addressing Gruden and his agent at times.

Just saw a couple of mins of the Derek Dooley show. The look on his face said it all, it was obvious he'd been crying. I kinda feel bad for that, but it was time for him to go.

Now its time to bring on the Gruds :devilsmoke:

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times,

I immediately thought of this quote as the last few weeks of Tennessee Football have played out with the news today. Our program has never been lower, but we have no where to go but up and maybe...just maybe Coach Gruden will lead us out of the wilderness/darkness and to the college football promised land.

Well, I have lurked around Volnation for some time now and said today would be a "heckuva" (CPF) day to officially join the Volnation forum.

I am sorry things got this bad for us and for Coach Dooley and the players/program, but there had to be a change.

I at first too, was a doubter, but I am feeling stronger everyday that Coach Gruden is headed to Knoxville and will be the next head football coach of the Tennessee Volunteers.

Let us all pray that this will happen.

What about when he said no back channeling had been done?

Agreed.

The reserve, university investments, and Cheek comments were particularly satisfying.

This and Hart saying "Don't worry, I know what I'm doing" made me feel very good about Gruden being our guy. Would today not have been a perfect time to say "we are not go after Jon Gruden" if in fact they are not going after Jon Gruden?? It has not been denied one time during this whole deal.

Was there any mention of a search firm in the presser??

Said one wouldn't be used.

Also something I found interesting from the PC-hart specifically mentioned removing certain hurdles. Why would they work so hard to get that taken care of I he hadn't made a call on Dooley or worked any back channels?
