Was there any mention of a search firm in the presser??

Don't remember if it was in pressed or from other site he would utilize friends in high places to check coaching candidates. Would not having but $1.9 million in reserve prevent a firm or him knowing his guy already?

This and Hart saying "Don't worry, I know what I'm doing" made me feel very good about Gruden being our guy. Would today not have been a perfect time to say "we are not go after Jon Gruden" if in fact they are not going after Jon Gruden?? It has not been denied one time during this whole deal.

Hart can't comment on any specific candidate but I do agree that a big leak will happen if he isn't in play very soon. Hart will want the fanbase to move past gruden in order to give the hire a fair chance in public opinion if gruden is out. I suspect hubbs will leak a very hard 100per gruden is out if it Isn going to happen.

Just saw a couple of mins of the Derek Dooley show. The look on his face said it all, it was obvious he'd been crying. I kinda feel bad for that, but it was time for him to go.

Now its time to bring on the Gruds :devilsmoke:

Know it had to happen. Sure Dooley gets a nice buyout, but in the end, no one likes to see someone fail who is basically a good guy with integrity.

Agreed. Something about Gruden, either positive or negative, should be coming shortly from the AD or Gruden's camp.

After saying he has had no contact with any coach(which was sufficient to make his point that the boosters may have), he went on to say that no back channelling had taken place either. I found that part odd since it went a step farther.

I thought the same and also found it strange how it all lines up tot a lot of th info posted here. Back channels, hurdles etc

Also something I found interesting from the PC-hart specifically mentioned removing certain hurdles. Why would they work so hard to get that taken care of I he hadn't made a call on Dooley or worked any back channels?

I took the "removing hurdles line" as , "I have sured up the financial resources to get a HR Hire"

Never seen the clip, but that is the side of Gruden I want!!!! Even more now!!!!!!

I was thinking if Gruden decided to come here it's advantageous for him to get here asap to shore up recruiting.

And keep what we have that works.

If I were Hart, I would say "Arkansas offered you how much? Well then you should take it."

Because whatever the number is, it won't ever result in Jon Gruden coaching at Arkansas.

He just fired a coach. He has an obligation to squash any suggestion that he has been negotiating with anybody.

Hell, we have 8 threads about it. He has to say something.

I thought about doing that the other day. I actually started on the first thread, then realized it would take more time to gather and edit all posts than I was willing to put forth. I may do end up doing it sometime because I'm weird like that and I will title it:

"The Book of Gruden"

The first part was good when he said I have had no contact with any candidates and would have been sufficient.

THe second part could have been taken as saying to this thread that no back channeling has been done by anybody. Why go that extra step unless he was trying to send a message?
