thanks for the effort, but it only took UT a few days to find, interview, and hire Dooley so that one seems strange. Gruden's camp has nothing to gain by waiting so...... and they will have to answer possible questions no matter when it happens, JMO.
Noone knows what kind of coach Smart ends up being. Muschamp was a risk right? He was never a head coach. Oh to be 11-1 right now. Obviously Smart would have very strong recruiting ties in the SE. People want to see the rockstar type hire, that rockstar could have us 5-7 next year just as easy.
That's exactly the point. If he was a puppet of the AD he wouldn't have reported DD was out after the Missouri game when they didn't want it public.

If this is a stupid I am sure everyone will tell me, but could Gruden and Tn be trying to wait till after weekend (last reg. games) to see if they could get "core" coaches in place (O.C., D.C) so they could announce them at once to make BIG SPASH (assuming O.C. and D.C. are BIG NAMES)?
DexM is just saying what a majority of TB fans who are also Vols feel. That doesn't make him a bad guy. :hi: I have felt the same way, but you guys here have convinced me I may have been wrong.eace2: I just recently got aboard the Grudski train, now I just hope Hart doesn't run it off the tracks. :salute:
We want the LONGTERM fix. Saban went 6-6 in first year at Bama. We realize it takes a year or two.
And there is nothing to support that Gruden would be a long term fix. Especially on the college level. My comment was more less that noone honestly knows for a fact that Jon Gruden could win more games in 5 years at Tennessee than Kirby Smart could.
