Because the AD doesn't want him to leak it yet. He's too powerful and has too many followers. Did you notice how quickly the "Dooley fired" story spread like wildfire in the twitter world and in the media after VQ wrote that article?
As soon as Hubbs says, "Guys, looks like Hart worked it out. Gruden seems to be in play." It will hit the media faster than you can imagine. And if the Gruden to UT is real and is happening, as many believe it is, Hubbs will suddenly change his tune shortly before. Bank on that.
I have not followed many coaching searches so I have a couple questions.
IF he is accepting a job (at a later date) then would he simply accept it and go on or would he still deny interest in the other jobs?
IF he is staying at MNF will he deny interest in all jobs or just ignore. What is the norm?
In watching Twitter the main teams mentioned of course are Tennessee, Arkansas and the Eagles and he has not said anything publicly that I am aware of.opcorn:
Very plausible ...I think mostly that Hart wants everything to follow the right process and I think he is being sensitive to the team, the current coaches, and Gruden.Because the AD doesn't want him to leak it yet. Why does it matter if it spreads like wildfire? That would be a good thing. He is either right, or he is an idiot.
And yet look where Urban is...So there isn't a real norm in a coaching search right?Urban Meyer is the only other example where this has happened. In Urbans situation he chose to deny interest in Ohio st and made a public statement about in the booth at ESPN.
In Gruden's case I think it has been made obvious he is intersted in coaching again. It looks like in this case Hart and Gruden have chosen to remain quiet about the their mutual interest.
Because the AD and Gruden don't want it to spread like wildfire. Hubbs works for UT. If he leaks a story that Hart doesn't want him to leak he will lose access to the program. He gets so much info and access because he doesn't step out of line.
The attempt to quell the media is either to protect the timeline for Gruden's sake or to maintain some leverage in negotiations imo.
There is obvious interest from both sides. That can't be denied now.
"Why haven't the insiders posted?" They are tired of quelling the insecure, restless and whiney masses..
Everything is playing out like SBV has said so far.
