Because the AD and Gruden don't want it to spread like wildfire. Hubbs works for UT. If he leaks a story that Hart doesn't want him to leak he will lose access to the program. He gets so much info and access because he doesn't step out of line.

This point is not being stressed enough in here. You folks do know the voice of that young man reporting on the sidelines of the games and on Volcalls with Bob.

The bold part makes zero sense. Why would you not want 100% exposure nationwide? What possible reason could Gruden or anyone else have for wanting to keep it a secret?

Makes zero sense to you but clearly not to Hart or Gruden. They do want 100% exposure but not yet. UT just fired their coach 6 days ago, just played their last game of the season today, Gruden has a job with ESPN and endorsement deals to manage, etc. The SEC Championship game is in a week, if Gruden is the guy, the 11/30 announcement date the OG's have consistently pointed to makes complete sense for 100% exposure. Instead of all the talk being about UGA and Bama, UT will get quite a bit of publicity.

Just because you and I want it announced RIGHT NOW doesn't mean the folks in charge feel the same way.

Hubbs is not the only one saying this, and no one (in the media) is really saying differently. No one is giving us much of a shot with him. If it was a "done deal" it would have been announced. There is no reason that they would be holding back on this.

Totally agree. There is a transition from one staff to another. Plus it is done out of respect for current coaches.

See, this is my problem. I want results.

Come on, Doc. You can't do a drive by like that and not give us just a little more.

Unless they have to because of ESPN and MNF

This is speculation. I don't care if it is announced now or never. Heck, I'm not even sold on the fact that Gruden is the only good candidate although I would be glad to have him. I just don't believe in the "conspiracy theorists" calling information smoke screens and trying to convince people that the media are putting bs out there for some mystery reason.

i am a conspiracy theorist with no ties. What if the deal is done with a mou signed by gruden and a few boosters. Leading the horse to water, they insist to hart that they really want gruden as the hc, make it happen. This, of course, is a test for hart and cheek to see how "much they will do" to make these wishes come about. As the boosters suspected, cheek meets them about halfway, desperate to keep his job. And hart closes in on negotiations, but tanks them and goes rogue from the boosters wishes.
Meanwhile, the smokescreens fly to throw everyone off the trail. This is to let the ad and chancellor dig further holes to try to climb out of. This is why the ad's office and boosters info sometimes seem at odds and ebb and flow.
All the while here incomes a familiar name to the ut family and close poi to the boosters, fulmer. Everyone assumes this is for hc, but they are positioning him for ad.
This culminates in hart blowing the negotiations, the boosters cleaning house only leaving j graham. From here the restructuring starts and with fulmer as ad and gruden as hc, with full cooperation from the new ad, fulmer, and full big orange flavored staff, we start a beautiful new reign as champs of the ncaa.

Ttfwiw i do not know anything or any insiders, just a conspiracy theorist and vfl. Gruden 2013.

I just have a hard time believing that is stopping anything. I could be wrong, I'm not going to pretend to have a clue about all that. But I don't see why it couldn't be announced and Gruden finish the year up at MNF or even leave. Urban Meyer left ESPN last year after taking the OSU job.
