I shouldn't of used the word 'liar'. If they turn out to be wrong it could be for different reasons

Why can't it be both? Just because a rumor turns out to be wrong doesn't mean Gruden still can't end up our coach. Lots of rumors so far have turned out to be wrong.

I know not going down the rabbit hole makes me an arse to you, but I'm going to stay right here hoping for a great hire (Gruden top of my list). My concern right now is us not getting Gruden and ending up with someone like Golden. This is not a 'I want to be right no matter what'. I want what is best for my Vols. so if expressing some concern that these rumors will turn out not to be true makes me an arse you can put me on ignore.

Let's say Gruden is a done deal, Hart still wants to do all the interviews of "qualified" coaches before announcing because it is the proper way to do it. What if Hart just did telephone interview just to say he interviewed them and 6 months later Gruden dies from heart attack. Those coaches will remember you did not give them time of day and will not be interested.

Good point.But I also believe when you are willing to pay 4 to 6 mill for a hc they will listen no matter who it is.

I must admit that this ordeal has had me captured for a couple of months. I don't have a clue who will be coaching but I believe that puts me in the same category as Hubbs, Hyams and the rest of the media. I believe there's only 2 possibilities: it's Gruden and this has been a masterful plan executed by Hart and Co. and he deserves an extension or he believes that a Golden/Mullen/Strong hire is best and we will have to trust him. Makes for an interesting off season.

This sheep will not accept Smart. Gruden thread will just keep going if that's the case. Same for Golden or Dykes.
