I hope someone else is listening to Tony B. Talking about how horrible the old staff's effort was in regards to instate recruiting. It's disgraceful.

Yes, and before anyone says let it go. NO! Don't let it go. He has made off with millions from UT and was an arrogant a$$. It was Hammy's fault but I'm not ready to leave Britney alone.

GRUDEN!

First off, I have really liked skeeter as a source and quality poster. But I think that his sudden change of heart on whether or not Gruden is the RIGHT coach is irrational.

If Gruden was #1, and Cowher was #2. I hear what you're saying - maybe Gruden isn't the best fit for reasons x, y, and z. Ok, let's go to Cowher.

But let's be honest about the situation.

There is Gruden and then there is a freefall to option #2. It's like choice #1 for a one-nighter is an NFL Cheerleader and choice #2 is a contestant on the biggest loser... BEFORE the show starts taping.

Plan A: Gruden and very likely success.

Plan B: Planned obsolescence

Alright Grudenites GET THIS DONE! I've been here since late Gruden 1 and need this put to bed. I'm leaving for a mission trip to Haiti Saturday morning and without communications for a week. I'm counting on you Grudenites. Let's go... Gruden 2012!

Awesome! Hope you have a safe and productive trip! :salute:

No, if he has no intention of coaching at UT he would already made that plain. He can have any open job in the NFL without any college help. He told Arkansas NO pretty much instantly.

All signs point to UT being in play, don't be silly.

My point is that Jon is not the only person in this conversation, LeMonte will drive as hard as he can until JG signs somewhere. That is what he is supposed to do - I am not saying that we are not in play.

I have been in this since Gruden 1 and would love nothing more than to see him on the ideline at Neyland. however, you have to see the business side of this.

On the topic of Arky I never saw a legitmate link or proof that they ever made the offer nor where he publicly declined. Not saying it didn't happen but not proof it did.

VolRumormill on twitter (no idea if legit): "Was just told that KPD and UTPD officials are meeting with AD members about security for coming press conference/coach."

I would think this would be pretty easy to get confirmation on...we have been talking about Krispy Kreme all morning...time for road trip..never known member of law enforcement didn't loves some Krispy Kreme.....j/k to any officers here.

3) Stopped all media speculation that a deal is already in place.

It also did a lot of this

Yeah I don't buy "control" being an issue. What control does Gruden want that Hart won't give up? Hiring and firing? I guarantee if Gruden says "I want to fire so-and-so" or "I want to hire so-and-so" then Hart would do it no question! That's silly to think otherwise. The kind of control that NFL Head Coaches often desire (GM control) is not something that a college coach would want.

The hold up is probably about the language of the contract. I'm sure UT wants to protect themselves if Gruden decides he hates college and wants to take an NFL job, probably a big buyout. Gruden obviously will want the freedom to move on if he so chooses without extreme penalty. Here's the thing he doesn't HAVE to take a job, he will make 4.5 million sitting in a booth calling games. UT has very little leverage in these negotiations. I doubt he will lose sleep if he passes on the UT job so if UT truly wants him, they better make it worth his while. They don't have to cave to all his demands, but he has to have some motivation.

If I'm Dave Hart I give Gruden everything he wants in terms of salary, staff, and control (still not sure what that means though). I come up with a reasonable and negotiable buyout if he decides he wants to move on. If Gruden truly wants the job he will accept something like that, but if he's going to be crazy greedy then there's no point pursuing him further.

I think if a coach CHOOSES to move on and leave the team, they should not be entitled to anything. I mean, you want to leave me and I have to start over and now I owe you millions???? They should also have to stay until the end of the season as to not leave us in a lurch. Now if we fire a coach, I can see giving them a small compensation if due to lack of performance. That is how it works in my job..how about yours??

Need a Krispy Kreme insider to confirm a spike in traffic.
