No worries. There's nothin to hide.
I'm not sure exactly how to define what I was told...it was vague. But without assuming and only guessing...yes, loyalty to not only his role, but the people he works with, the network, all the above.
I think if a coach CHOOSES to move on and leave the team, they should not be entitled to anything. I mean, you want to leave me and I have to start over and now I owe you millions???? They should also have to stay until the end of the season as to not leave us in a lurch. Now if we fire a coach, I can see giving them a small compensation if due to lack of performance. That is how it works in my job..how about yours??
First off, I have really liked skeeter as a source and quality poster. But I think that his sudden change of heart on whether or not Gruden is the RIGHT coach is irrational.
If Gruden was #1, and Cowher was #2. I hear what you're saying - maybe Gruden isn't the best fit for reasons x, y, and z. Ok, let's go to Cowher.
But let's be honest about the situation.
There is Gruden and then there is a freefall to option #2. It's like choice #1 for a one-nighter is an NFL Cheerleader and choice #2 is a contestant on the biggest loser... BEFORE the show starts taping.
Plan A: Gruden and very likely success.
Plan B: Planned obsolescence
I mean for their official ESPN duties. I promise you Corso, and Herbstreet won't be flying commercial. ESPN get's them to their GIG on a private jet. Even the VOLS can provide this service for him. Yes, he probably resorts to commercial flights for some functions, but when you are talking about the amount of money being talked about here, McGhee Tyson is NOT the weak link in the chain. Do you think Saban worries about flying in and out of Tuscaloosa?
"TVGuide.com: Geez. It sounds like you need to talk to ESPN about getting your own private jet.
Herbstreit: Yeah, that would work. They do fly me privately from GameDay to the Saturday night game, but the rest of the travel is not private. If you can help me get that done, I'd appreciate it."
Buy it or don't but assuming Jon Gruden isn't making irrational demands when more than just skeeter have hinted at this is a bit naive.
We'll all know soon enough. Not in the detail we'd want and maybe not the results we'd want but we'll know soon enough. What worries me is that this presumed booster money in the 6-7mil per year range will vanish with a standard coaching search and we'll be negotiating with closer to 3 million per year while Arky is offering double to the likes of Miles.
If she wanted to live in Knoxville, why didn't she move here anytime in the last 4 years? She has no reason to stay in Tampa if Knoxville where she really wants to be.
I see what you are saying. Someone just made the point that a bigger airport is easier to get in and out of. Some have pointed out JG on a public flight before MNF.

Ok, I get on VQ and it says "babyvol says on TOS that it's still Gruden" .... I look in the CliffsNotes and it says "babyvol says on TOS that it's still Gruden"
Each site is referencing the other, but I have yet to see the actual babyvol post ... Could someone enlighten me? ha
