So somewhere in the world is an escrow account with a ton of cheddar in it earmarked for Gruden, but it has not been withdrawn yet.

Surely it would take a few days to do so wouldn't it?

Yes but you would know when you were getting your money back.
I guess I should have said there is currently no plan to return the money.

I don't think the AD has been involved in the "Jon Gruden" subject, this has all been handle by the big $$$

Yes you are correct. The point I was trying to make but missed in my rambling is this; those in the department are shut down at any mention of it around the water cooler. Just interesting to me. This whole thing is starting to become an Hitchcock movie.

A little more on the AD side. I have told you guys I have friends inside and they have been pretty quite or clueless. One is a "brother" to me. I finally got to have a long conversation with him on Thursday. He is not a paper jockey either. He said the info inside literally changes every 30 min. The interesting thing is that Gruden is never really discussed it is like a taboo subject. Every other coach in the country has been the target but no real talk of Jon. I find it odd because we all know he is the guy that people want. Too much just does not add up.

If you were Hart and Gruden and you wanted to keep something quiet for a certain timeframe. Then you make up a story that will shut things down for a while and keep it between yourselves.

I have spent probably 4hrs a day checking this since the first thread. we need to keep us a thread to post in a lot of good people in this thread.

for one, not contacting Gruden's camp until yesterday- that, in and of itself, is a fireable offense

or, if he denies that report, then for fumbling on the best possible candidate for our head coaching position

Dont believe everything you read as gospel anywhere ..TV newspaper boards etc lots of BS smoke still covering up the fire..I have no F@@@@@@ inside info but have see enough, read enough, and been through all kinds of emotions and obessions with this to know something is not RIGHT with all of this. As I said before the only thing that makes sense is Jon Gruden next coach at Tennessee. I also bet people will be worshiping Dave Hart after all of this is over.

Could not agree more. I wish I knew exactly what was going on. I have not gotten anything on Gruden since yesterday and that was a statement of "it ain't over yet". Outside of that I had a discussion about Fulmer. If the intent was to shut the chatter down they we successful..

I guess you're trolling. Carry on.

Volly, is there any way to see the first 3 Jon Gruden threads? I can only see back to 4.
I would imagine they've just dropped down the page. Scroll til you find them. If that doesn't work, use the Contact Us button at the top and let Freak that you can't access them.

Well, from the outside it looks more like "The Hart Who Stole Our Head Coach." It's a sad book about an AD with a brain three sizes too small. Hopefully this one has a happy ending like the original. We just need a Cindy Gru Who to change his ways.

Based on the way this is playing out, maybe he should be micromanaged.

I see what your saying, but we got to let him do what he gets paid to do and after we have done that I believe he will make the right decision. One thing people are wrong about is Hart isn't a dumbass. Is he stubborn, Yes. Does he have a ego, yes. Will he make the right decision??? We will have to wait and see, but I believe so. If then and only then will he be forced to go with what the $$$ says.

I have this sick feeling that Hart wanted Smart, but he's going to offer Jimbo. The other feeling is that Hart never wanted Gruden, period.

just posted on the cliffnotes: @TennesseeBeat: FWIW, OSU AD just said thru spokesperson that he had not been contacted by UT for permission to speak to Mike Gundy New York City could be nexus of Tennessee's coaching search for next few days » GoVolsXtra

This is all so fishy....
