Here's the full story as I know it:
First of all to understand what happened to Gruden, you gotta understand who Gruden the coach was. Now Gruden was born to a three-legged ***** of a mother. He was always ashamed of this, man. And then right after that he's adopted by this man, Bob LaMonte, he's a small time gun runner and a coach promoter. So he puts Gruden into training. They see Gruden's good. He is damn good. But then he had the fight of his life. They pit him against his brother nibbles. And Gruden said "no man that's my brother, I can't fight nibbles" but they made him fight anyway, and Gruden, he killed nibbles. Gruden said "that's it!" he called off all his fights, and he started doing crack, and he freaked out. Then in a rage, he collapsed, and his heart no longer beat. wow.
I'm just curious... I've heard speculation and some rumors that if Hart screws this up any further, he might not be the one to make the hire of the next HC. Is this a legit possibility and if so, who would that responsibility fall upon? The BOT?
I don't really care who the next head coach is as long as he is a winner. That being said Espn, Foxsports and NBC sports wouldn't report on the Gruden being a potential hire and cover it, if there isn't real talks going on. I believe there are still talks between both parties. This would be the most difficult hire to make happen in college football. Like other posters have stated every other SEC team is automatically against us on this hire. I'm just saying its alot of legation and formalities would have to be worked out. As they say its too much smoke on talks between Gruden and UT. In the end I still think we end up with Gruden, if it wasn't him we would have already made a hire. Its just my opinion.
I could go for Charles Davis or Phil Fulmer for AD. If those two turn it down, then Blackburn.
OldVol, an OG, said in October that this would be the biggest deal, not in terms of just compensation but everything involved, that the NCAA has ever seen.
He also said to look for it to be done, then seem to fall through at the last minute. I believe that was Gruden III as well.
Another name that needs to make its way into the UT administration is Shuler, since he will no longer be in congress. But yeah, Fulmer for AD sounds great at this point.
