Supposed to hit about 70 here. Gonna spent some time outdoors today. :)

Im in lakeland, nice and comfy here at about 70 too. I might have a better chance at going out on skunk ape search and finding one in the green swamp then finding out who will be the next tenn hc, lol.

I see it from Carters point of view.... sort of.

I'm hearing from boosters a version of the truth mixed with their hope and excitement.
I have a wait and see attitude now. The guys I know have been right in the past so I not bailing on them, just waiting it out.

Sorry posting again got at bottom of page

LETS LOOK AT THIS FROM A PROCESS OF ELIMINATION standpoint and put the pieces togeather... anyone care to start

All pieces point to Gruden..Only way to explain everything. Maybe it was him in the Airplane Hanger talking. Everyone said he looked tired last nite. Two jobs can drag a good man down..This cannot go on much longer has to leak and happen soon.

Fisher is 30-10, FSU was picked by a few to compete for a NC, lost to NC State. Any coach who leads a team that loses to a team that Dooley beat in the same year. Going to have pass on that

Mike Gundy is 66-35, the most tenured HC on the list, still do not think he is a serious contender based on his current contract thru 2019 and his buyout.

Charlie Strong is 24-15 (615 winning percentage) coaches in a weak conference, has strong Florida ties, hasn't proven to be a top notch recruiter, he is 52 just don't get the warm fuzzies with him.

There are a lot if assumptions about what the OG's feel. Nobody has dropped off or slinked away.

BCarter is the only one I've seen distance himself from his sources or completely reverse his position.

My position is still firm but guarded. My information has not changed, and I still am trying to make sense if Fridays developments. One thing is certain, none if what happen adds up or passes the smell test. Until I'm told something different by those I trust, I'm still cautiously optimistic. I find it telling that we are still inside the original timeline that was expressed from the outset.

For those claiming we've disappeared from the thread.....I am seldom here much on the weekend. But I'm never far away. My life eats up my weekends....its much easier to post from work during the week.

Yep. And it's hard for me to believe, as I rewind the situation, and play it back in my head....that the information I was getting was all generated by lies.

As Boro stated...I'm guarded and cautious, but it one makes me keep mouth shut but my mind is open.

Every hire we make is high risk at this point. Load the contract with moral clauses, give him a budget that allows for stellar recruiters and roll the dice. I want to win again and I don't care if Petrino rolls through the T on a Harley with a different blonde coed every week at this point. No more up and comers.

While I agree with your general sentiment as far as ability, Petrino is not being considered, nor should he be.

He has definitely been eliminated from consideration. 100%.

Petrino has ****ed over every team he has coached.

"Grucon 1" Heh! Good post - I'll second that ab BabyVol, although in the interest of full disclosure, the other 2 kingpins on tos, LWS & Deerpark, don't (or at least haven't) agreed w baby. This speculation is still more fun than our football season was! No matter who ends up as our coach, I hope someone writes a book about all the behind-the-scenes stuff! I'd be the first to buy it, unless it's Clay Travis, then I'd just have to read the Cliff Notes!

They haven't agreed with him on this particular issue, but both will tell you he's a straight up guy who has been reliable in the past. I also mentioned last night that the AD insiders (I was talking more about skeet and LWS rather than DP) have posted since the "blowup" things along the line of "things could change" with JG if this or that happened (either he said he wanted the job, or backed off some alleged demands, etc.). I found that "leaving the door open" type stuff interesting, because they have never seemed to think he was a real possibility, and I think they still feel that way. Which tells me they may have just been repeating what they were told recently by someone else in the AD. Which makes it even more interesting to me, because I have never thought those guys (LWS, DP, skeet) were knowingly part of a coverup or misinformation campaign, but I do think it's possible they're being used as part of one by others within the AD. It's inconceivable to me that people within the AD don't know that those guys post on the forums, and if I were wanting to get some propaganda out online that's who I would give it to.

But aside from baby's opinions, there is a lot of truth in what Boro is saying. Most of what was reported the end of last week just doesn't make any sense. There is no way JG would want his name to "depart" the search process on the words spoken by his agent, which inflamed a lot of people. Nor is there any chance at all that there had been essentially no contact between him and his camp and UT and its camp, or that money for the assistants was the only issue standing in the way of things, etc. If none of that stuff makes any sense, and if we haven't heard anything else that does make sense that would explain a parting of the ways, what does that leave?

I'm not optimistic or pessimistic at this point. I'm in wait and see mode. And as I said, if someone else isn't announced this week, I think it's still JG.

Petrino has ****ed over every team he has coached.

Sometimes the dog you give you a second chance turns out to be the best dog you ever had. I said I would have to bite my tongue, I know his history. I would still take him over the likes of Strong or Golden.

Love your avatar btw: HATE HATE HATE!

I've got a question...why is thread even still active? He's not coming, won't be coming, probably not close to coming, be it last week, today, tomorrow or next year. Like beating a dead horse to get up and walk...:horse:

Im hoping that collective effort comment by hart is true. Using all these coaches as smokescreen. Coaches call them, tenn ad say or blame it on rumors and fan hearsay, but then the university is the one leaking the bogus stories. In the end the coaches that are duped ones, they dont know who to believe. Unless there in on it, i doubt it.

You are probably correct. We will consider losers from where-the-hell-ever before talking to a dirtbag that just wins.

If you dont believe he is coming leave. I didnt ask you to come here but I believe still because that is the only answer to all of the chaos that has happened the last 2 weeks. I may be wrong, but do not think so. IT IS THE LOGICAL CONCLUSION TO THINK JON GRUDEN WILL BE THE NEXT HC AT THE UNIVERSITY OF TENNESSEE.

My window is full-blown open, with my finger jammed on the "up" button, moreso now than ever.

I'd be less likely to think Gruden was actually happening if the last two day's hadn't happened. If you get a chance, read my post in this forum. It's long, but if you have faith that he's still a possibility, you may like and agree with some of the theories I throw out there (and disclaimer, they're not all my own - others feel this way too.)

My guarded caution comes from the parallels that the Saban and Meyer stories foreshadow in our situation.

Right now...we are in a situation similar to the end of the movie Shutter Island. No one knows exactly what the truth is...and I believe the people I was talkin to because they are friends of mine. They are all in "wait and see" mode....as am I.

I'll go back and read your post...

He would be on his 4th chance. Louisville kept him after the Auburn mess. Falcons hired him after that mess and left him high and dry. Arkansas hired him after knowing about his auburn-Louisville crap and thought nothing was wrong with him leaving an nfl team with just a note in lockers. He has had chance after chance to stop this bullsh!t child behavior.

I certainly understand not having a warm a fuzzy for these names . In fact I don't have it for 2 of them by never the less they all have championship resumes which is exactly what hart said in his presser. That part can't be argued

Guys....just chill....trust me....I stepped back and it comes to me....

It's Gruden......Listen to yay4bray.....listen to the OG's....

He's coming......
