Press Conferecne speaking abilities mean absolutely nothing.
No but communication does, it is a reflection of the university. I said wins trump all of this. We had a good speaker before. I have my doubts about strong winning here. To me his resume as a head coach doesnt wow me. He has done a nice job but it doesnt scream that he is the overwhelming choice to take us back to the top.

That's certainly a fair stance but I think his reputation as a recruiter when he was recruiting in the SEC suggest he will hold his own just fine. It's certainly not a slam dunk I admitt

At florida when they were winning big? Come on its not that hard there.

I didn't think Lane Kiffin was much of a speaker.

I still believe it is going to be Strong.... I am not happy about it though... I agree with Gman...

A++ post :good!:

I watched the video of his press conference. I don't know the context, but I have clearly seen people give much worse interviews. Even the best speaker, when put in the wrong situation or at the wrong time, can bumble around a bit.

I didn't see anything there that really concerns me, if the guy can do 2 things; 1) recruit, 2) win ball games.

He can do both.

Also, I think there is much to be said about his distaste for Florida. It would be nice to have a coach on the sidelines who wants nothing more than to beat the Gators. As a side note, this is why I like Fisher, he has beaten them 2 out of 3 times. That is rare in this day and age.

Really? I thought he was a helluva salesman. Could really talk it up, remember the story about him jumping on a treadmill to help land Bryce?

I am just thinking of the way he mumbled his way through the Lane Kiffin shows. I admit, I hated Kiffin from the start. I was still butt hurt over the way they fired Fulmer.

Why would he have a distaste for Florida?

Great post IMO
Thanks.Having played a little ball myself I fully understand the importance of having great tallent.Look at how many players we were putting in the nfl during the 90s and our records those years.Compare that to the last 10 yrs or so.My friend is a Sec Ref he told me the same thing. He said all the coaches in the sec arr great coaches but the ones that win alot just have better players. He sees it on a weekly basis. On the tallent issue he had the tn.vandy game and said our coaches were having to yell at CP were to line up during plays. Then he laughed and can u imagine what he would be like if a actually knew the play book.He gets by on tallent and instinct alone.Thats crazy

Why does he hate Frorida, that's a good thing but why the distaste?

I still don't get he can recruit. Where is there any proof that he can recruit?

Absolutely. Are you origanally from Soddy Daisy?

Who is the editor at TFP?

I'd like to send him/her an email or tweet. We need to encourage them to keep the proverbial heat on this story!

If the story is true or not why "keep the heat" on it? What does that gain us or solve? On the flip side how does that potentially hurt us?

Did anyone else hear what Hyams said on 104.5 this morning that he believes Hart is doing interviews in NYC and that is where he thinks he interviewed Gundy???

None of them have any clue. But apparently we're down to three candidates now, says the Knoxville medias uninformed and often incorrect "reporting" (speculation). You know, the one's who are paid to report stuff?
