Good luck waiting. It will never happen. the way you will know that Gruden isn't coming is when UT introduces somebody not named Gruden.

I promise you if something fell through or if Hart was never really interested in Gruden, that information will never be public.

I'm sure lots of people will have "insider info" about what happened, but it will never be put on the record.

Because if Gruden deal got derailed I want to know "how", "why" and more importantly "who" is to blame.

You and I both know Knoxville's sports media isn't going to investigate the story. I think UT Fans should and need to know the truth of what went down and who is to blame. The answers to those questions are in my opinion paramount.

If Hart is to blame for the snafu, he should be held accountable. If someone else is to blame, then that person/people should, likewise, be held responsible. I strongly believe that the UT Athletic Department's paramount duty is to its consumers!!!

You, sir, are laboring under the mistaken notion that:
A). The UTAD gived two hoots in hell what the average fan thinks/wants...

B). The Knox press actually cares about journalistic imtegrity.... They have never been (nor should they be) pompom shakers for the university but neither should they go out of their way (as is often the case, see almost ANY John Adams column...) to denigrate the university.....

Everyone can't win every game. Gruden is first if any way possible, but I'm putting Mora Jr. second. Skeeter says he wants to come here. He turned UCLA around this year. He's got name recognition in the south, because he was coach for the Falcons. He wasn't the best NFL coach, but he had some winning records, and we all agree it's hard to coach there.

If I could have my pick of anybody other than Gruden, it would be Mora Jr or Stoops, Strong and Fisher would be back up plans. First and formeost we NEED A CAPABLE coach not somebody that can TALK well but can't get it done. GO VOLS!!:rock:

If Basilio's blog is correct, then UT lacks b@lls. It is as simple as that. A Gruden deal was there to be had, but they "just couldn't get it done" because "too much too much"? Let there be no doubt as to why Alabama is ruling college football. For their big $$$ people, too much WASN'T too much.

Whereas, our $$$ people are wimps. They got to the edge of the cliff, packed up their toys, and shrunk from the opportunity. We seriously act like a second class program right now. Can there be any doubt why we perform like one?

There is a huge step down from Gruden to Fisher, String, Gundy, etc.

I agree with you there, we can't back ourselves into a stupid corner but at the same time we have to pay the money and not be cheap. But I agree you can't have a STUPID Hamilton contract either.:rock:

I am big on Mora, he went to the NFC championship with Michael Vick! That's impressive. I don't really understand the Gundy love, his record speaks for itself. I just don't see us hiring a coach with an avg. winning %. Dungy would be the surprise that would make Hart a legend, but I just don't see it going down.

At best in the SEC, Gundy is a 9-3 coach.
