The last 3-4 years have been a blur to me. Maybe I have blocked it out for obvious reasons, but was the Dooley hire on the radar at all? Did any of our local media in K'ville catch on days before the hire?

Put yourself in strong's shoes this weekend with recruits. It's his job to sell himself to those kids. He is paid by Louisville to do a job and he did exactly what he should do since he still is the coach there. He doesn't know tenn or Anybody else is going to offer him the job and until that happens he should keep doing exactly what he did this weekend..

I thought a lot about this after the 11/30 ****storm.

If the UTAD is really out of money and needed booster money to get a deal done with Gruden, what's to say the same thing isnt true to get another coach who is relatively well known? But what if the boosters wont give their money if it isnt going to be Gruden?

We may be in for another Derek Dooley type hire because the UTAD cant afford to hire a big named coach on their own.

Nope. I had to Google him to see who he was. Now I am trying my best to forget.

My guess is he flipped because he found out he would have to be in Mississippi, and realized Louisville, while not a huge step up, is a step up.
All kidding aside, if true, then this points to someone having the offer.
Looks like just in the last hour or two we have gotten credible confirmation that Jimbo is staying at FSU, and now we are hearing that Strong is contacting recruits to let them know he's staying (not sure I buy it, but I'll play along). Both of these things together point to someone else having been offered the job and the final details being worked out.
It's face-saving time for Strong and Fisher, who both want to look like they considered and thought better not to come (rather than the truth, which is probably that after all the interviews were done, another candidate was offered).
I just pray to God and all that's holy that the guy who posted that he "got a text from his source that it is Fedora and the presser is Thursday at 3 PM," is wrong.

This looks like a deal is done and Fisher and Strong are spinning after not being the final candidate to get the offer.

I agree. He wouldnt be telling recruits that he was leaving, even if it were true.

But it is a business pretty sure would not be the first time this happens. If the coach flips to another school.

It would make sense as to why Hart wait 2 weeks before starting the interview process. Nothing really adds up as to what Hart or Gruden's agent leaked to the media. Think there is way more to this story than meets the eye.

Agreed. If I recall, he came to us as a recommendation from Muschamp during his interview.

I found out from a Longhorn board regular that Muschamp had recommended Dooley and that it was likely our next coach about 48 hours before it was reported we had hired him.
