And according to reports recruits said ther were told Gruden was coming to UT.So much for coach speak to 2 star recruits.

Just my opinion though. I think it's right.

This. Recruits are told this to keep them calm and at bay. It is well noted that he is interested in the job and that he thinks his interview went wel. I think he would be a good coach on this stage. Just need to surround him with great assistant coaches and i think you would have a winner. JMHO

the more I keep reading the cliff notes on all the other coaching suspects... the more I'm starting to come back to the Gruden theory - he might really be coming... we'll see

I still maintain hope that Gruden could come.

The only thing anyone is really going off of was one comment by Gruden's agent who is a known liar.

Personally, I am still all in. Soon is a relative term. All of these second-tier candidates are starting to drop like flies. Sit back and enjoy the ride...

I agree. I mean if they aren't coming... who are we hiring Denzel Washington? I mean he did good in Remember the Titans why not.. he'd probably do as good as some of the other non-gruden names LOL!!!

The boosters will still have to agree to put forth the money for Strong if it true. IMO, the big money boosters will not do this, and UT alone cannot fit the bill for a Strong hire without the big money boosters.

I went from being reasonable sure it was Gruden (before 11/30 media storm) and now I am more 50/50.

50% that it's definitely Gruden
50% that Tennessee has no freaking clue who will be the next HC but the list still includes Gruden

We'll make a good hire. Any of these candidates are better than what we've had the past 3 years.

You don't tell a kid that if he is flipping though. I could understand if he is a long time commit. I would be pissed if a coach told me that over the weekend and then left.

Let's assume that Hargis was on to something. And let's say that they were really close to a deal. Is anyone worried that the reason the deal maybe dead is because if they did agree, Tampa Bay or ESPN may be coming back after their money?

Or what if they were close to a deal and Hart huffed and puffed one too many times and ticked off the Gruden camp!

If this occurred, I could see a number of coaches in the same situation say I want the job but not if I have to work for, or report to that "unhelpful person".

"unhelpful person" = #$%^#^^@% = Hart.

This is a plausible as any theory!!!

I think Hart will make an offer with in the next 24-48 hours. I think he will speak with Fisher today and i would be very surprised if anything came from that. I really dont think Fisher wants to play UF, Bama and UGA every year.

He didn't say Strong, though. He just said there would be an offer
