That JG tweet makes a lot of sense now that this is playing out. His dad played at Rutgers when GS was there.

What happened? Currie, Haslam, or bad media?

Well we knew misinformation would come out. I have heard Haslam did something and I have heard it was Currie, agents as well. Won't know much until the dust settles. But Gruden is very much still in play.

If I had to guess it was Currie and Haslams. Ergen isn't playing.

So proud of our Vol Twitter army. If you participated today you just made history. We united together and voiced our displeasure that made its way all the way to the White House!!

Even other universities are celebrating our accomplishment and are applauding or efforts. Whatever happens during this coaching search, we’ve proven that we are one of the best fan bases of any sport, on any level. Wow.

This exactly. This is about more than a coach. This is a power struggle to get the old guard out and fix the program. Do we really want the group running the browns to continue driving our bus. I think not. There is plenty of new money to come in. This program can survive without the iron fisted control of the Haslams. Better yet it will begin to thrive without it.

C'mon Man. They're doing SO WELL with the Browns.

If the Haslams had anything, no matter how big or small, to do with this hiring, they should be banned for life from UT and B. Haslam should resign as Governor. What a nightmare. The Kiffin ordeal does not come anywhere close to this. I do not see anything good coming from this at all.

It the Haslams had ANYTHING to do with this sh!tstorm, any political aspirations they may have had are done. They all just might as well pack up and move to Cleveland.

That’s placing a very very big and risky assumption that Schiano would say no or that state reps would step in. Either way it’s a long shot that nobody believes

I thought you said earlier that Currie would simply bow under the pressure to his higher ups when I said that him breaking under pressure was my concern?

If I have you confused with someone else please overlook an old forgetful man :hi:

you can kindly kiss my ass. Until Freak bans me I have as much right here as you do. I asked you a legitimate question. Do you still honestly believe that Gruden is coming to Tennessee?

Did you eat paint chips as a kid ?

No official announcement has been made and how the f@&$ do you know who I support ?

This is a pro-Gruden thread . I'm sure there's a Kindergarten thread somewhere

you were asked to leave....learn to read while you're gone. You saw the freak's notice.

Wrong. The whole state did this. All parts.

I think veryone understands your frustration but to make this statement is absurd. Do you have any idea what all they do for this university? The amount of money they donate?

Amazing! This idiocy has enraged two student bodies. Proud of both the Vols and the Buckeyes as the true representatives of their schools. Wonder what this will do to both programs?

The Buckeyes didn't say a word until after the Volunteers took a stand and stirred it up. I wouldn't give them any credit at all.

Dude, after this mess, do you honestly believe any big name coach is going to come here? Currie has singlehandedly ruined us for the next 10-15 years because of this Schiano mess. I love our passion and I stand fully behind our uproar, but we're screwed and looking at another 2009-esq hire.

How in the heck has Shiano ruined us for the next 10-15years? He is employed by Ohio St. and they are currently in the playoff picture. Yet, we are forever screwed because his name came up.

JAV and a few other respected posters on TOS are in as much shock at todays events as you Knuck and Exile. Totally conflicts with their info also. Bewildered may be the right word. Just wanted to throw that out there.

I may be calmer now in this search than I have ever been for some odd reason. Such unchartered territory. But in my mind there now HAS to be the big, expensive, explosive hire in some form or fashion. Just where I am at.

Again, I remain on the Gruden Train.

I do not doubt everyone's info, I believe a group wanted the AD ousted and this was their way to get it done. Right now I believe it is going to work. I don't see how Currie survives this.

Dont give up on Gruden just yet Volfans.
I admit I did not expect to see the misdirection go wacky jacky like it did today with all this Greg S stuff, but in the end, we are still in the market for a coach and while other coaches have taken themselves out of the running or taken other jobs. At least one hasnt.
JG.

after today, there isn't a coach going to touch us.

SIAP but for those of you claiming this is smokescreen, looks like Currie was in for Schiano for quite sometime. I never thought it, but looks like someone is actually worse than Hamilton!
