I agree. This has moved well beyond the football team and hiring a coach but is about the integrity of the University as a whole.

Honestly, I think every word out of Exile, Tuesday, knuck, and others mouths was told to us as the truth as they were told.

Doesn't mean that situations don't change. Doesn't mean that the person that told them was told the truth.

Idgaf who they hire, it won't affect my life and the plans I have one iota. If.its someone I don't like or can support then I will find other ways to entertain myself.

To all that brought info I appreciate y'all, you stuck your necks out when others lurked in the shadows with the same info and did not have the testicular fortitude to say squat. I'm with y'all until it ain't Gruden and even if it's not him I'm with y'all anyway.

Calm down Shirley. It's a message board fans can want anybody they want for Coach. And no fans won't be disappointed on anyone not named Gruden. But hiring a guy with a sex scandal included by his name isn't one of them. Quit being so sensitive. Obviously this forum is not for you. Go toughen up your mangina then come back.

My thoughts. Not Gruden. Never was Gruden. Especially now, with all of this.

Will run naked through...correction...semi-naked through the streets if I'm wrong, but it is effectively over for Tennessee football. Whatever coach they get will be about 20 feet under the bottom of the barrel.

Again, I will send out apologies to all if Gruden is at the podium any time this decade.

Also, WKGN reporting we may owe Schiano a buyout for a contract that was allegedly signed TWO WEEKS AGO.

Unreal, if true.

Today has truly been unbelievable to say the least. I think there will be two immediate take aways:

1. Our beloved VOLS did not need this type of national attention, certainly not at the end of a coaching search!

2. AD WILL HAVE MAJOR CHANGES/UPGRADES!

Still in the Gruden corner!

Was just listening to local ESPN radio. They had Finebaum and Chris Doering on. Both said they think Tn lost or was played by the #1 and they panicked. Both pretty much said they did not blame fans.

Preface to my opinion:
I love a good conspiracy and I know this is not the movies BUT

What if the deal with Gruden never included Currie? All the info we are getting seems to be from booster side. It was stated at some point Currie didn't want Gruden. If Currie truly was hired behind the back of so many at he hand of Haslam, this could have been Haslam's plan all along:play along with everyone then get your man (Currie) to torpedo deal at last minute. If other boosters (Ergen) are tired of Haslam's influence and power mongering, maybe this was set up to get Currie ousted (enter Beaver and expectations of VN) and get Fulmer or even Blackburn hired (strange that Blackburn left UTC with no real explanation). Maybe all this is part of the grand scheme.

Cliff notes:
Other boosters saw Haslam's play to hire his coach and countered to get Currie fired bc he was the pawn.
AD VN wanted put in place and secret deal with Gruden takes effect.

That’s absolutely what he did. It just wasn’t who I thought it would be. No way anybody would think his actions were good in any way whatsoever. But I don’t buy a conspiracy theory that this was “all part of a master plan”
