There is still more of this to come, the boomerang that was launched by voltwitter is about to come back around and land in the laps of the OSU fans and media that are criticizing Tennessee fans for not wanting Schiano.

Respectfully, he knew of the grumors and was asked specifically about the job several times. Then on the radio show he intentionally mentions rocky top completely out of left field knowing exactly what it would do. That's not connecting dots by crazed fans. That's trolling. Maybe he really wants the job and was hinting for currie to call

Well for one Tennessee was playing that week and he does like Tennessee. Another his kid goes to Tennessee.....and again he and his family likes Tennessee. He never ever said he was coming or even considering the job this year. Also multiple people around him had stated that he he wasn't coming.

Everyone got caught up in nothing more than rumors. Why does Gruden need to say anything....... When he never said anything in the first place. If anyone wants to w upset, be
Upset at Curie for not doing what he said he would do.

Can we run out right now and get Les Miles or Kiffen? Seriously, would help us through the darkness. After today's bull****, I see no other way.

So this is what it looks like when Haslam has his balls in your mouth....

Dude, I made a post earlier about this, dont want to beat a dead horse here, But Currie is a weird F'ing dude. Presser was one thing because he was firing butch which we all wanted but geez, after today, dudes a freaking goofball man. He needs to go. I dont give a crap if Vice Lombardi comes back and cuts a deal with Currie, dude needs to get off U of T property Asap or we are in for more shenanigans I can assure you.

Not a word from Currie. Not a word from Gruden. Or Phil. Or Peyton, for that matter.

Anyone who calls themselves a "VFL" knows that the Vol fanbase is an inferno right now. And there isn't one good reason to let it continue for another hour.

Too much smoke around the Schiano story. If this was Currie, he's toast.

This is turning into a nightmare, and someone is going to have to answer for it before it's all over.

Go Vols.
Phil done said he hardly knows anything about the coaching search.

Preface this by saying, for the umpteenth time, I'm still in on Gruden. It's not about whether anyone believes me, it's about trusting the what I was told and the person who told me. I absolutely do, and internet admirers and scoffers alike aren't going to change that for me.

Opinion to follow:

This is Haslam. Last minute attempt to do EXACTLY what he did in 2012. Back door an unacceptable coach in an attempt at grasping and clawing to remain the controlling force behind UT Athletics. I don't say guiding force, because that would imply a direction in mind.

It's about the control, plain and simple. It's gone on too long. It has to stop. If the Haslams won't step aside graciously, they need to be forced aside.

I'm still on Gruden, and I hope that the people who did the very real work to get him to the Hill will send the message home to the Haslams for the last time, that their time is DONE.

One person's opinion, FWIW.

Apparently we did not have a signed contract with Gruden

Shame on Currie for going rouge

Shame on Gruden for not saying thanks but I am not interested

Shame on us for falling for this a second time!

As much as it pains me to say this, it might be in our best interest to bring in someone like Miles. He'll give us some stability and will win some games along the way until we can get a competent administration in place and hire our coach for the future. Flame away. :)

If it's not Gruden, then this may be the only plug that will keep this ship from going under.

Sounds like a great discussion for the Les Miles Thread.

I no longer believe anything I’m told.

Wrong on strong last time.
Wrong on Petersen this time.

I apologize for bringing this garbage information to the board

No need to apologize, as long as crazy Jim has their hand in the cookie jar, there is always a strong chance of Haslam pulling a Haslam.

I’ll say this. I truly have zero clue what has happened. Like I said before, i haven’t heard any new info for about 10-14 days. However, some of my friends are former players. They all are shocked and pissed based off of what they knew. They feel like Currie lied and they were played.

Secondly, a few friends that are in the coaching profession and have zero ties to UT, heard nuggets of info about Gruden.

I’m shocked that this is happening. I didn’t even post most of the good comments that were made to me.

I’m hoping to find out what happened soon.

If you hate me, fine. I never mislead though. There would have to be a giant grand conspiracy if all the info was lies.

well, is it over?
no gruden?
seriously?

“Insiders” or guys with “insider info” need to stop trolling.

Gruden needs to squash all rumors so fans can move on.

Currie needs to resign.

UT needs to just offer Kiffin and be done with it.

Another alternative would be to just cancel the program altogether since it’s obvious they don’t care about it and continue to bury UT. They have turned a once proud program into the laughing stock of the nation.

This.... All the "OG's" with connections need to STFU and GTFO. Bunch of trolls. Same **** happens every coaching search. Congrats on making us the laughing stock of college football with all your Grumors. I doubt Kiffin would even come back to this dumpster fire. For the record today's events dwarf what happened when Kiffin left. This is all bad for UT.

It never was nor never will be Gruden. Let this die.

Gruden should be booed every time he's in town. He could've cut this speculation out with a simple deny.

Because Brock Huard was going there to announce the game. It wasn't completely out of left field. He loves UT...doesn't necessarily mean he wants to coach here.

We would all like that, but doesn't make it certain.

Oh ok, so then why ask them specifically to not talk about Tennessee in the interview? I guess cbs sports must also just be crazy fans connecting dots?

I cant believe currie thought shiano was a homerun hire... that idiot needs to go with the rest of butchs staff, except Gillespie

That's the danger of getting an Athletic Director from Kansas State. They think any coach with a pulse that is willing to take the job is a homerun hire.

No doubt we’ve been trolled by several in here, but our anger shouldn’t be focused in their direction. Currie, Davenport and the Haslams deserve the blame 100%. And our job isn’t finished, they all need to separate themselves from our university for it to heal and recover from this **** show.

Sexton trying to seek compensation out of UT now for backing out. Haha. Haslams are done and so is Currie.

If true, Sexton and any of his coaches should be blacklisted by UT, assuming that there are any non-Sexton coaches left. Nothing but misery from that man.
