The thing is even if Haslam pays money owed (if true) damage is already done. Petersen, Campbell, Norvell all will probably go to another school or stay at current because of lack of leadership shown.

Appreciate the response, but I don't get it. What good is all the ring kissing when your program (and NFL team) are terrible? Power over terrible programs, woohoo? I mean maybe its because I'm not a power hungry maniac, but... it doesn't square for me

Doesn't matter if it isn't true. The optics are really bad, and bad at a time that UT can ill afford it. Not just Title IX, but sexual abuse in many forms is in the news every day, from CEOs to media moguls to priests. Couldn't happen.

Also, if we owe Schiano any money at all then someone besides Currie had to have signed something... which means Davenport is gone, too.

I would venture to say that this was a power play made by the House of Haslam that has actually backfired in a tremendous and unexpected way. This almost hire can only be traced to the Haslams as Jimmy Haslam wanted to hire Schiano at the Brown's almost three years ago.

They should not be allowed to get away from this. This shows how inept the House of Haslam is at sports. Haslam should be required to dish out the money that Schiano is now claiming that he is owed.

Don’t get it - aren’t the Haslam’s fans of bringing back football glory? Why would they continue to sabotage coaching hires?

And if they are - how are the continuing to get away with it? Seems the protests may be happening at the wrong place.

One thing is for sure. I will never, ever, again say that my degree is from the Haslam College of Business at the University of Tennessee. I am ashamed to be associated with anything that has the Haslam name on it.
