Can someone explain to me why the Haslams want us to be terrible? To have "yes men" in the AD rather than "right men for the job"? Serious question, my wife just asked me how it benefits them for them to have control but us be terrible, and I don't have a logical answer. Anyone?

Because there's a higher high to being biggest swinging d**k in the room than just winning ball games. The power of it is corrupting and clouds judgment. People like this usually don't even know it has happened to them and they become tone deaf to the fan base and desensitized to their team losing. Their real sport is the power struggle that they MUST win at all cost.

As many have said before, the MOU typically includes the main terms of the deal, but is not meant to be legally binding. There has to be an intention by the parties to make it binding. The length of time can also play a factor, so if a MOU has been signed for 2 weeks and today a contract was supposed to be signed, that might cause more of a problem. Plus, if the MOU contained legally binding terms and provisions that might be another factor. It is really hard to tell without having the document to examine.

Regardless, we should not be in this position in the first place. Utter lack of competence in our AD. He surely will have to address the media for this and I hope the boosters rally together to fire him.

I thought last night was bad. Today is a day I will never forget nor forgive. I hate John Currie and I hate whoever backed his play on Schiano.

Today is a day that will live in VN infamy. We have been betrayed in the most heinous of ways.

Today we have witnessed the death of the Tennessee Volunteers football program. We will not recover from this. We are now the dregs of the SEC, a once elite program consigned to embarrassment and mockery. From traditional college football royalty, to court jesters.

It's politics plain and simple. They control the state as governor, they are on the bot of the state run schools and can control education on a grand scale. Families like this start at local and then state levels and then graduate to national politics. See Clinton family for example.

I'm looking forward to the dust settling, people coming back and saying "blah blah blah is gonna happen," and then disappearing when stuff goes south again. Not gonna lie, I was duped by the whole "Bucs switcharoo" and I feel dumb as hell about it, but I never claimed to know anything else other than they were talking to a certain someone (that I assumed was Gruden) and that the 26th (today) would be the day it all came to light. And I'm here to own up for that; I was technically told the right stuff, just the wrong people. It sucks.
