Can someone explain to me why the Haslams want us to be terrible? To have "yes men" in the AD rather than "right men for the job"? Serious question, my wife just asked me how it benefits them for them to have control but us be terrible, and I don't have a logical answer. Anyone?
As many have said before, the MOU typically includes the main terms of the deal, but is not meant to be legally binding. There has to be an intention by the parties to make it binding. The length of time can also play a factor, so if a MOU has been signed for 2 weeks and today a contract was supposed to be signed, that might cause more of a problem. Plus, if the MOU contained legally binding terms and provisions that might be another factor. It is really hard to tell without having the document to examine.
Regardless, we should not be in this position in the first place. Utter lack of competence in our AD. He surely will have to address the media for this and I hope the boosters rally together to fire him.
t-day
"good evening. Over the last several hours vols fans joined others from around the world. And we launched the largest volnation retaliation in vols history! volnation. that word should have new meaning for all of us today. We cant be consumed by our petty differences anymore. We will be united in our common interests. Perhaps its fate that today came after an embarrassing loss to vandy, and we were once fighting for our program not from tyranny, oppression, or persecution but from annihilation. We are fighting for our right to live. To exist and to thrive again in the sec east. And should we get a coach worthy of wearing the power t. This day will be remembered. It was this day vols fans every where declared, we will not go quietly into the night! We will not vanish without a fight! Were going to live on! Were going to survive! Today we celebrate t day!
I thought last night was bad. Today is a day I will never forget nor forgive. I hate John Currie and I hate whoever backed his play on Schiano.
Today is a day that will live in VN infamy. We have been betrayed in the most heinous of ways.
Today we have witnessed the death of the Tennessee Volunteers football program. We will not recover from this. We are now the dregs of the SEC, a once elite program consigned to embarrassment and mockery. From traditional college football royalty, to court jesters.
I'm sorry for the depressing rant, but I am devastated.
Appreciate the response, but I don't get it. What good is all the ring kissing when your program (and NFL team) are terrible? Power over terrible programs, woohoo? I mean maybe its because I'm not a power hungry maniac, but... it doesn't square for me
They gassed everyone up with all their lies for the second time in 5 years. I guess it's not their fault this place is full of sheep. Oh please give me more of that sweet insider knowledge. Like I said, none of them know a damn thing.

What I have been saying today. We have a voice and must use as we did today.
Anyway I am catching some ****. I am sorry this happened to all.
