Sometimes, it gets darkest right before the dawn.

Remember Alabama's Rich Rodriguez fiasco? And what it led to?

The only problem I have is that I question whether we have the administration to (1) recognize the problems and (2) find a good solution.

That's the problem. They proved their incompetence yesterday. I have no faith this ends well.

All hope is not lost guys! We rallied the troops yesterday let’s do it again today! Anyone thats got connections contact them let it be known we will not settle for less we will not settle for being mediocre and we want a winner on the hill!!!!

Everyone said Penn State would be dead after their scandal, and they had what, ONE bad season? And now they're back in NY6 bowls already

Serious Question here.... how did Currie talking to Schaino make any sense whatsoever?

And there still has been no statement from the AD or the University! Have they ever talked to Peyton and Fulmer for advice? ( I read somewhere that Peyton and SChaino don't get along very well).

I guess I am just looking for answers....

I believe we were feed information that was totally false all along (intentional or not) ie/ the statements that both Peyton and Fulmer were helping in this search... I do not think for one second that either one of them would have anything to do with this hire.

My statement does not say that the folks in here deliberately trolled us... I believe they (as I and many others) only posted what they heard...

The problem I have...people are living in a fantasy world if they think he did not have the blessing of anyone other than Haslam. There had to be many involved for Schiano to get this far. I absolutely have NO faith we get a top tier coach with this loser at the helm. I'm so pissed this A.M. I can't see straight!!

I agree Sara. I'm not just pissed though. I'm actually feeling really depressed. This is not gonna go well.

You could have said the same thing about Alabama's administration after the Rodriguez fiasco. But, somebody stood up down there and got it right. It was the AD.

Again, and I am with you, who at UT has the fortitude to stand up, tell the Haslams to get the eff out of the way, and get this right.

The only way to fix this now is to up the anticipated salary to the point that a top-shelf coach cannot say no. Money talks and BS walks.

It reminded me of Mike Price at Bama

Nobody should be depressed. They should be relieved. We avoided making another crappy hire.

If we can just cool our heads and make the right decision, we'll be fine

They’re buddies
Haslam did a 12th hr muscle flex to try and control everything
Currie went dark and was at the OSU/Mich game last night to do said interview.
Sunday:
CBS breaks Gruden story, USA Today breaks ****uno story and all hell breaks loose.

I suspect a statement was taped last night...

You are right. There was only one family involved, and that was the Haslams. Until UT puts them in their place, there is no hope.

To do that, somebody at UT has to show a spine.

The refusal of Currie to acknowledge or address the people concerning this search, wither intentional or not, comes off as arrogant and dismissive .... If I handled the folks at my business this way I would not have one in 30 days ....

If Currie is not fired after this cluster of events, then I have zero hope that Tennessee will ever be anything but a Vanderbilt East

At this point Coasty I think we'd be lucky if we were having Vandy type success

I fully intend to email Currie and Davenport and as many in the AD's office as possible demanded the removal of both Bev and Currie and ANYONE who signed off on this hire

Another good example. Alabama had its share of missteps, and it was largely controlled by one booster, the Bear's son. Mal Moore told him to get the eff out of the way and hired Saban. The rest is history.

If Currie doesn't have the balls to do that, hire somebody that does. Hell, I have engineering and law degrees. Hire me. I will do it.

Me either.

The first two sure but who can run off a booster?

The school would need to disassociate with him, something like that normally happens when a booster is found to have been causing NCAA violations.

Not sure if that would work here, but at this point, the man/family has caused irreparable harm to the university and athletic program, if that's not grounds to disassociate with him I don't know what is.

Speaking of Money, have you heard or know what Currie was willing to pay this guy???? I heard their was a MOA signed, if true wonder what we offered him?

You are right. The coaching search needs to slow way down before it speeds back up. Better to be right than fast.
