We didn’t hire a search firm because there was no search. The haslams and Currie went after Schiano. Pure and simple. I hate to believe it. But it reeks of that right now.

That is absolutely correct. Currie "had his man" from the outset as many stated on here at the time. Problems is that it was Schiano and not Gruden. A cluster ___ of epic proportions.

Tennessee football is not dead and will never be dead. It's so big that it takes multiple idiots conspiring to keep it down, which unfortunately, is the situation right now.

Even after the Dooley years we still pulled in top recruiting classes. Chins up folks, it's still great to be a Vol

I do think Currie will be lose his job . If that is the case we need to Appoint Phillip as ID or go get Blackburn. Also call Jim Bob cooter offer him or Tee Martin and if they say no call Lane Kiffin. I do seriously think There’s gonna be some major repercussions.

Oh I agree with ya, but when the two are put in place by the guy who's causing the problems, are they really going to go against him?

The haslams need to be straight up removed from any association with the University.

Cause as we just saw, even when everyone else was against this hire, literally the whole university and athletic department, nothing will change with him still being able to have any sway.

In a way, that's a blessing (about the recruits.) No reason to try to magick our way into getting Saban v.2 in the next week. Let's clean house and get someone in who can start rebuilding this poor team.

Gruden and Kelly were probably never even contacted. Which is probably why Gruden was dropping hints and leaving the door open all this time. We thought he was trolling. Hell he was trying to wave us down. Then Blackburn comes out and says gruden would be interested in the job if he was offered...alllllll makes sense to me now.

Schiano was Curries guy from day 1. Period.

There may be a lot of truth right here... this makes sense to me.... I'm going to believe this at least until I hear/learn something different

Davenport told Bill and his pals at JLL to take that outsourcing talk somewhere else because she wasn't having it. I'm guessing she is also behind bringing back the Lady Vols brand. She may not last long, but she will go down swinging.

What a crazy crazy 24 hour period. The more I think about it, the more angry and upset at the administration I become. Literally no one wins in this situation. I can’t see Currie or even Davenport emerging from this with any credibility and I hope that is the reason for the delay in a response because there needs to be a response.

However, I have never been more proud of our fan base. I’m proud to be a Vol, but I will not support this University if Currie remains.

Exactly, that's what is so odd about it. CBS wouldn't just willy nilly put something out there like that without proof.

They had to have been told that by someone. Now who that was is anyone's guess, but I don't think anyone at CBS is stalking this message board looking for information.

Someone in the AD or boosters floated this to CBS, maybe as a preemptive strike against this Schiano hire? It certainly looks that way now.

Get the fans all riled up for Gruden and the knowing that they didn't have the pull to stop Currie, the AD person/booster said screw it and told CBS knowing full well that any info after that would cause a straight up meltdown of epic proportions.

That's the only way I can justify it happening.

I know this is the Gruden thread but it seems to have lost its focus last night.
Mullen waited two days to hear from Currie and he never did. Whether you like Mullen or not as a coach you would think he would at least get an interview.

Coach Fulmers daughter and my daughter live on Signal Mountain. He always said he has no input into the search and I thought it was coach speak. I guess he was honest looking back.
