Thanks LAVol, I wish we had the power to make it happen. He has never failed to impress me any time that I have heard him. Wish by some miracle he could get in the mix, I think he would kill an interview. Take care brother. That's a guy I could get behind for the reasons you posted. He would have to have a really good OC. He's a former DB and no doubt would be great DB coach. He would give players tough love and they would respect him.
War and violence are what protects the sheep. Most in here are the sheep dogs, a few sheep, and a few wolves (who can gtfo).
The sheep right now are ready to take Gundy and hibernate until the spring game.
The wolves have battered Vol syndrome and have no expectations anymore.
The sheep dogs are blowing up social media, email inbox's, screaming at anyone who will listen. They also haven't lost the belief that victory can be obtained.
This might be the last stand, the last chance to truly take and hold "The Hill." Is this a hill worth dying on....CURRAHEE
No need to be a d***, but clearly you are. Do you have proof that he wants to coach UT? If so please provide it.
I was just trying to provide some clarity. And he has said he MIGHT like to coach again, never has he said he would coach college ball. If I am incorrect prove me wrong. Maybe he doesn't want to comment on the UT coaching search because he does like UT and also has a child in school here. I would love to have Gruden as our coach, but stamping my feet and crying isn't going to make it happen.
And again if I didn't make this clear, you are a d***. No need to respond like that.
Tennessee is a dream job for a lot of people, me included.
No and please no trying to figure it out. People's careers are on the line. They are not a Tennessee legislator but I would say powerful if Haslam had their cell number. I know this is not earth shattering but it is first hand straight out of his mouth. He seems to think we are stupid and he can bite me.
Not sure if it meets 'proof' standards but in 2015 he said this:
Don't forget. Gruden could have told, UT,fans, media etc. that
I want to coach the VOLS man. That might of helped get the deal done.
Unfortunately, he didn't.

To clarify my point, I would be happy with Gundy if thats who we get. Obviously the points about Gundy being more proven in certain aspects are solid. At this point, Gruden or Gundy are far better than anyone Haslam / Currie are likely to trot out to the podium. At this point, nothing would surprise me.
If nothing more than PR to calm the fans down and squash the Gruden to UT thing for good, would it not make sense to make him a reasonable offer. Prove to the fans it was made with full effort, and make him say no. That type of closure would help the next coach I would think. If we hire Gundy (once again not a bad hire), Currie gets the ax a week later, and then it comes out we could have landed Gruden with an offer that was reasonable, A LOT of fans are going to automatically dislike Gundy simply because he isnt Gruden.
