So really all we have is Gruden has a few ties to UT. Then there’s the other side of that argument. Not wanting to be the bad guy if the program fails, etc. I’m not anti Gruden. I just think a little. Gruden has expressed 0 interest in coaching any college team, let alone our Haslam circus. Some of the rumors on the Brohm deal were we didn’t wanna pay the pay out. No way in hell were paying Gruden what it would take a year if brohms buyout was an issue. It’s hard telling what Gruden makes a year between his contract, endorsements, etc. I know I know espn is going under. Realistically Gruden could pick any network to commentate for.

It just makes 0 sense in my mind. Hopefully I’m wrong.

Grudens name alone is worth more millions coming into the program

our recruiting classes under him would probably be close to the same level as ' bama

No. Rockytop is a former Vol as i recall. Atlanta comes from a line of Vol boosters and has carried on the tradition. Don’t think they’re the same

I personally attacked no one. I just questioned opinions, which is allowed. It’s kind of the premise of a board.

Correction to something earlier.. I received a text from a friend who’s close to Brice... said 2 people to look out for are Petersen (not Paterson) and Fuente. But has always maintained Gruden is 50/50. I relayed the info Boro and Rocky shared and Brice sent this back: 💥👏🏻👍🏼 TIFWIW

So either there is genuine interest by Gruden in the UT job or it was a clever ploy by a group of Boosters to force Haslam out.

What if several Boosters pushed the Gruden narrative to create outrage no matter what coach was hired in an attempt to force Haslam out of power?

It just so happened that Haslam picked the worst candidate of all time in Schiano which worked out perfectly for this coup.

Were the Grudenites trolled by the most elaborate scheme since Putin fixed the election in favor of Trump?

I don’t think we would have been able to stop any other hire than Schiano, simply because of the Penn St association. The AD wouldn’t have given in to fan outrage just on the grounds that we didn’t like the hire. The public outrage about Penn State (whether Schiano was involved or not) was bringing negative publicity to UT. Once that narrative took off, they had no choice but to stop it.

Our outrage worked in stopping the hire, but it wouldn’t have worked without the Penn State piece. Anyone else would have got the job no matter how much we kicked and screamed about it.

We were told Ergen would fill in the blanks(or numbers) with any funding the Haslams pull after Fulmer got put in the AD.

Yes I’m not joking. I asked some serious questions as to why people thought Fulmer would have Gruden high on the list compared to a frost, Petersen, etc? Not FOS at all.
