I think that pedigree is more important than the money aspect. And I think that some top assistants may be reluctant to hitch their cart to Strong given his statements about being passed over due to his race. There are many younger up and coming coaches who simply do not think that way nor want to be associated with that mind-set.

I am sorry but I don't buy that at all. That would have nothing to do with strongs ability to assemble a staff IMO.

Can you provide that article where Strong said this?

I agree, only a racist person thinks in those terms IMO. That could come back to bite CS, or we could hire him and who knows what will happen.

at this point i have come to the conclusion it is not money that is the the issue. i also say villagers bring many gifts to tarzan. tarzan gets offer he cant refuse

we made numerous offers and finally we realized the jerk had no intentions of ever accepting any offer we made. It was the. Our duty to go find a candidate that wanted to bring us back to dominance.

lol lol lol.....yeah right!!

In other news. Some people are having a come apart in Alabama. Rumor going around Smart is on the short list at Auburn and he is bringing Cochran with him.

There are sheep, there are wolves, and there are shepherds. Wasn't name calling, just pointing out one of the herd.
I believe you could bring more to the conversation than that without categorizing. And don't argue with me any further..I always win! :)

My non Gruden list went Mora, Stoops, Peterson, but don't think those guys are on the short list. I think it's Strong, Gundy, and Fedora. I just don't see them being anything but another slow growth project, if they can fight through gettin pummeled by the SEC the first year or two. Why is it always is that can never make the right calls.

Someone needs to explain to me why Mora, Peterson, or Patterson are not getting any real consideration.

Don't worry, it's kind of like natural selection. Get rid of the idiots in the fan base and it will make the University stronger.

Name calling and insulting those who have supported this program for over 30 years with their hard earned money that just want an AD to do what's best for their program is part of the natural selection?

Maybe it's just me, and maybe I'm just tired (which I'm sure of), but this is a very fragile time for this program and its supporters.

We do not want to settle for mediocrity at this point, and if there was/is ANY possibility (within reason), then it should be done.

Gruden is that possibility for some of us. Is why we are here in the Gruden thread.

So this guys word is the gospel? Don't trust everything u hear..

This is the only thing I have read during this search that has been deemed as legitimate reporting in my eyes.

I am 100% that Stephen Hargis and his article are legit.

Of course, that's my opinion.
