I think the whole argument is ridiculous. Why can't you strive to be great at everything--academics and athletics included. Why does one have to be exclusive of the other?

You are right, and that was kind of my point. I would think most would agree, but this is in response to Cheek basically inferring that athletics will not bring down academics. It doesn't have to.

But, some have said that Cheek is more into a research-based institution, and I don't care about that.

Wow, this is playing out exactly like we were told. All the names we are hearing seem to be dropping out or not being interviewed. I look for Gruden announcement by Friday. Maybe I am a fool, which is very possible, but we are on track tosee all candidates out of running officially by tomorrow. That would mean either Hart is a disaster at hiring coaches(which I think would lead to the powers that be forcing Gruden) or it has been Gruden and this really has been the mother of all smokescreens. Again, it is totally possible I am dead wrong on all of this.

Gruden will not be announced until the 17th, or possibly later. If we do not have a coach by then, look out! GRUDEN TRAIN, FULL STEAM AHEAD!!

I find it interesting that Ron Zook's radio interview last week revealed a 3:15 am text from Gruden. It gave me the impression there was an emergency of some sort. I also find it interesting that Charlie Strong and Larry Fedora are names tied to Ron Zook according to their bios. Could be nothing, but it could be that a call went out to Zook to help create a diversion to take the heat off of Gruden. Just an idea..

Now that is some cloak and dagger stuff right there, Nancy Drew!!!

So Auburns president says announcement tonight or tomorrow. Rumors it is Malzahn or Smart. Rumor out that Gundy is going to Arkansas. Now we here Strong staying at Louisville. Rumor that Mora was contacted by Tennessee and Auburn and said no thanks. If all true we better have Gruden or somebody sucks
