Unless you want to get into a deep discussion of global wealth redistribution away from the middle and lower classes since the 1970's as correlated with energy and food inflation and federal income tax rates and personal productivity . . . In which case I'll tell you you're in the wrong forum.

So back to my point: Strong doesn't have what it takes to put butts in 95,000 seats for every home game, especially in a bad economy.

If Strong is indeed hired and it looks like that is the case, it would be interesting for those who claim to have inside information to surmise where their informants went so wrong on this. I doubt that they were intentionally lying. Were they, as carter stated, passing along their desires more htan the facts?

PS-I wanted Gruden too.

Strong??? Yuck. I'm so sick of Tennessee hiring people affiliated with rival schools. If we can't beat them join them??? WTF is that. A Florida product hired by a Bama guy. What has Tennessee become?

We deserve better dammit. We are Tennessee. I think most of us have forgotten that.

I was all for Fulmer being fired. Was thrilled when we brought in Kiffin and his all-star staff, Dooley wasn't my first pick (actually I didn't know who he was) but I was willing to give him a chance. Now Strong? I never thought I would feel this way, but if this comes to pass, I regret the day we told Fulmer he was done here. There is no denying what color that man bleeds. Even at the end of his career when we were losing, everybody knew he was ours, we were his, and no matter how bad things got, the program had a steady figure putting his heart and soul into Tennessee football, because no one loved the Vols more than him.

I've backtracked and apologized now, so all of you gloating trolls feel free to flame away. I'm mispoke, and am broad enough between the shoulders to take my lumps.

When this thing breaks the other way on you, be man enough to take what gets dished back out.

Wow. I read this whole Boro thread and feel like I just witnessed the wavering of one of the biggest OGs.

I'll take this as as much of a concession as Boro will give to the untruth of the Gruden talk.

Life sucks. Being a Vol fan certainly has sucked for a long time now.

I have actually enjoyed reading this forum over the past few weeks, but I just can't handle all if this blind negativity and hate.

My ignore button is only capable of so much unfortunately.

I really think these negative people need a drink or a Xanax.

You're the kind of person in this world that would do well sitting behind a desk and doing whatever is asked of you or completing everything that is thrown on your desk.

It's sickening that our fan-base has succumbed to this state of mediocrity and learned to have such a great outlook on failure

Minus the lunatics in this thread, right? I've never seen a more negative reaction for UT football in my life.

It's amazing how hostile this thread becomes when you share information quite frankly stating that Jon Gruden is no longer a possibility.
