Bought to get a new 40" LED for my pool patio area..I'll be watching the game from my pool probably with some whiskey and a few beers floating around somewhere. gonna be yelling drunken expletives into the night! (My gator fan neighbors must love me!)

Might go to the Gators game..definitely will to bowl game if its in Florida again

When we're you in my man cave ?

I am going to have to question Granny.
I am thinking you two may have hooked up through the Ashley Madison site.

I don't remember seeing her on Ashley Madison but man those pics she posted on Cougar were pretty racy.

I just saw a thread in the Pub that Cyclopskiller has passed away, only 34 years old. So young, we never know when our number will be called. I never knew him but considered him a friend. Going to miss him posting.

I saw where he had alcohol problems.....couldn't break free of it. God rest his soul.

Although I well say being on campus this time of year is nice with all the returning coeds and their summer tans.

And before your say it, that's the female coeds McDad...

Yes.

He and I chatted. My understanding is he quit cold turkey (against much advice) and it killed him. Liver, kidney failure.

Alcoholics body's actually depend on alcohol to survive. Much like you and I with water. It becomes a physical dependency, and if you cut the body off, it will shut down.

Wow. Must be a terrible way to go.

As a budding alcoholic myself, I felt compelled to look into his threads and they really moved me. He seemed like a great guy, and it's a shame he couldn't overcome his addiction.

I would just like to address something here that you've said that I don't necessarily think is medically accurate though, for the sake of others who might take your comments a certain way. Quitting cold turkey does in fact have many risks associated with it, but as far as I can tell(I've done a lot of research on addiction and dependency), quitting cold turkey isn't going to stop your liver or kidney functionality. The sad truth is that his liver and kidneys were already going to fail, and quitting cold turkey likely had little to do with that.

His thread about his addiction has honestly inspired me to try harder to not reach that point and take care of my problem before it reaches that level.

You very well maybe correct Mercy. I am just relaying what I was told by a physician. My friend lost his father as well from quitting. (From what I believe to be the truth) he locked himself in a room and quit. With in 3 days he had died.

Cyclops is/was a good friend. He was one of the first I became friends with on this forum.

He will be missed dearly.

From what I have been told one can die detoxing from alcohol or Benzodiazepines( Xanax, Valium, etc) if it is not done properly with medication.

I read through his thread were he was trying to quit, really sad.
