7-0 or 6-1 right now. Leaning towards the 7-0 with the talent this team has shown.

I've had enough of "next year." We've been dealing with "next year" for long enough and the pot is about to boil over. And I don't care if we run the table the remainder of the schedule. This team is...was entirely capable of taking it all the way to the CG and beyond.

Yes... a loss is a loss. They haven't gotten it done. Can't argue they have. And, I agree with Gramps, coaching cost them with FL and OK. But, its conflicting for me because of the progress from where they were with Dools. I don't think we could say they were capable of winning any of these close games back then. The loss to Vandy in 2012 when we were 5-7 is not that far in the rear view mirror to me. One of the consequences of getting old I guess.

And why did Arkansas dominate us? How did we blow the lead in that game? Why did we take our foot off the gas with Oklahoma and blow that lead? Why didn't we rip the heart out of Florida and end ten years of defeat by blowing that lead?

We did play Bama even. And I'm proud of those boys for putting up a fight like they did. But the difference is a good coach would have found a way to snatch victory from defeat. And that just didn't happen.

I'm tired of being the "best 3-3 team." Or now probably the "best team with a losing record." And I'm tired of hearing how young we are or how long it takes to grow a football team. There are plenty of coaches out there that would salivate over the talent at our disposal. And they wouldn't use the same excuses over and over and over again.

I'm not in the mood to argue today, GV. I've taken serious issue with Butch before. Even the Arky game. I just have a feeling of solidarity, even with the staff, along with really not having a good day.

I wasn't really arguing with you. Venting more or less.

Apologies if you took my words as confrontational. It wasn't intended that way.

Nah, I'd be ok even if I did take it as confrontational, man. Its just been a really, really bad day for me, and I hate the mother****ing ******n **** out of the ****ing tide.

I hate losing to bama. Hate it. But the team played very well. Missed field goals killed us. Sucks but the rest of the schedule is very favorable for an 8-4 finish.

Dobbs says "We can't let this loss beat us twice". "We have to be ready to go because Kentucky doesn't really care about what happened to us this weekend". Josh is a brainy dude to say the least.

Kentucky ain't no cakewalk anymore, no reason we can't win out.

Butch said the same old talking points which is "Our team showed some grit and some determination and some resiliency on the road to a quality opponent blah blah blah".

I hope so gramps. I don't know if I can take any more moral victories.

Moral Victories are a myth. A team wins or loses period.

Compare the 2015 team to teams of the last 10 years. This team although suffering some tough loses is the best Tennessee Volunteers football team since the early 2000's. This program has improved each year during the Butch Jones tenure. 2016 is year 4 for Butch. That is when TN should be competing for the SEC and a spot in the playoffs. Anything less than 10 wins in 2016 will be a bad year.

They did.

Did you think TN could actually compete with Alabama before the game?
I did not.

Exactly, I expected them to compete, which they did . I did not expect a win though. Alabubba has had the number one recruiting class for how many years in a row?

That's ridiculous.

Getting blown out/not being competitive in games is very different than being very competitive and coming up short.

Using that logic, there is no difference in our lost to Bama and Miami's 58-0 lost to Clemson.
