Official Seed List Watch Party Thread

Finish strong and lock up a double bye for SECT, that’s the goal!
It’s truly in our hands. We get the 4 seed, win that quarterfinal game, and from the semi finals on anything can happen. Last season proved that. When everyone is healthy I’m beginning to think we should try a starting lineup of Zeigler-Vescovi-Mashack-Phillips-JJJ that 5 is so versatile and has arguably our best defensive 5. It also has the capability to score consistently at 4-5 of the positions. That’s not to say Mashack can’t score he’s just not as consistent as the others which isn’t saying a whole lot lol. These guys are all really good rebounders too for being 6’7” or shorter. If we play a regular lineup though I prefer Aidoo over Olivier at this point.

I’m not sure those 5 have ever even had the chance to practice together, would be tough, had we stayed healthy all year maybe that’s something we could’ve toyed with. I’m with you on Aidoo though, started last 4 games and is averaging 21mpg 7ppg 7rpg 2bpg 60%fg 100%FT, you can work with that.

If only he didn’t get into foul trouble so much. If he didn’t against Mississippi State I think we win that game. His rim protection is huge, and I think he still has such potential to be a 10ppg 10rpg and 3-4bpg guy.

You mean A&M? But yea, at 30mpg he very well could be a 10/10/3 guy which there’s nobody in the country this year that can say that same.

I’m hoping AM can win out now which would put them as the one seed in the SEC tourney so if we make the 4 seed (or 5 seed) we can avoid Alabama until the final game

Updated matrix from yesterday still has Vols as a 3 seed, but dropping 1 spot from 9 to 10, so 2nd overall 3 seed. 2-1 finish feels like there’s a very good chance at remaining on the 3 seed line as conference tournament play starts. 3-0 would give you a shot at climbing up to a 2 seed. I get everyone wants to just spout off without looking at the actual facts and say “oh they’re gonna be a 8 seed” blah blah blah, but that’s not the case. Look around the Vols, it’s why they’re still a 3, you’ve got Iowa State as a 4 seed and they’re 18-10 (we are 20-8), teams have piled up losses this year, it’s been a crazy year so far.

Someone may have posted this earlier but ESPN must love us. They have UT in the final four with Houston, Bama, and Purdue. UT as the 3rd of the final four.

Interesting.

Tennessee still has some of the best wins in the country. Beat 3 of the current top 5 seeds and took another current 2 seed down to the wire at their place. People saying we are dropping to the 8/9 must not have noticed that the rest of the country loses every week too. Looks like the lowest we would drop if we completely free fall would be a 4 seed, maybe 5 at worst? Would be nice to stay on the 2/3 side of the bracket though.

Would be really nice if Gonzaga and Virgina both can lose there games today. Would really help cement a 3 seed for us I would think
