Official Thread of the St. Louis Cardinals

What does Ludwick have to do to be in the lineup everyday?

my buddy, who works for the Cards, heard Ludwick and La Russa in a profanity-laced argument this morning, over the current situation.. obviously Ludwick wants to play every day, and I think he should..BUT Rasmus is heating up and is going to be a star.. Ankiel is on fire (thanks to the mustache) and Duncan is also pretty hot.. its a tough situation but everyones hot right now so i say La Russa should keep doing what hes doing.. Duncan is by far the worst defender but he has made a few nice plays of late, and his dad is the pitching coach, so i dont think hes going anywhere.. I hope it continues to work, and maybe it will keep the outfield healthy with the extra rest.. you could, and probably should, put schumaker in the mix.. he is struggling at 2nd base and looks like hes getting very frustrated there (with his XL outfielder glove still on).. however, the Cards are blessed this year with many new players that can play several positions (by the way Glaus is not going to have an easy time making his way back into the lineup).. Thurston is on fire and can play any infield position.. Barden (also rocking a mustache) is making some great plays at 3B but has also started SS.. Ryan is playing better 2B than Schumaker but can play anywhere.. Green is really the only one struggling at the plate, but hes getting bailed out by everyone else..

so there, thats my opinion for the 4 other Cards fans on Volnation

and yes, Ankiel made the play of the year today!

Our Cardinals are off to a hot start... Best record in the MLB right now (15-7).

Wellemeyer is really the only weak link right now in the starting rotation. If Franklin can continue to close out games effectively, they definitely have a shot at the Central.

Of course, Pujols is on fire... Might be a legit threat at the Triple Crown this season. Pineiro, Lohse, and Waino are a combined 10-0. If you include Carp and Boggs, they're 12-0... with a very low ERA.

We're going to score runs. The key to a playoff run is the bullpen, which is just stating the obvious.

GO CARDS!

wow... we were at the game tonight and watched Ankiel go head first into the wall.. we were sitting right beside the 1st base foul pole and it looked very scary.. all the players were praying and you could tell it was not something that he would shake off.. he gave a thumbs up on the spine board, as they drove him right in front of us, so thats encouraging.. just read that he never lost consciousness and has feeling/movement in all extremities, great news.. Ankiel is by far my favorite player and it was tough to see him go down like that, but i guess thats part of it when you play wide open like he does..

here's to a full recovery... you're the man Ank :salute:

x-rays and CT negative... day to day....... GREAT news
there was a really odd/weird feeling at the ballpark the whole night

BTW Tyler Green had the #2 web gem tonight, and it was an incredible throw to see... now if he could just hit..

Carpenter shoves it when he's healthy bottom line. He abused alfonso soriano.

Pujols legging out that double was excellent to see. I think a baseball tonight analyst said "Makes a manager's job easy when your star player's doin that."

well after getting Jack Clark's autograph last week, I got to meet him today in the Cardinal Club before the game... hes a really nice guy and he's still jacked.. i was also pleasantly surprised to see Ankiel get activated today, glad he had such a quick recovery after that hit

The last time the Cardinals made a midseason trade for an Indians position player was 2006 when they acquired Ronnie Belliard, and we all know how that year ended...

:dance2: mozeliak finally pulled the trigger!

ive been sayin this was going to happen for a month, im glad i was finally right

I die a little bit on the inside every time I watch Dan Haren pitch. I wonder what Mark Mulder is doing tonight?

In equally depressing news, Chris Carpenter is getting shelled tonight. Six runs on 11 hits and a walk through five innings. His WHIP and ERA have gone from .70 and 1.78 to .82 and 2.42 respectively.
