Official Thread of the St. Louis Cardinals

Looking for win #20, Wainwright left the game in the 7th inning leading 6-1.

The inning is still going, and it's now tied at 6.

Waino needs to choke out McClellan for that crap. Robbed of win #20, which IMO would've locked down the NL Cy Young (though I still think he should win it).

If there is ever a key situation in a game, the last person I want on the mound is Kyle McClellan. He's proven time and time again that he is not a clutch performer. When there isn't any pressure, McClellan is dominant.

Sucks for Waino.

I can't think of a single reliever that I DO have confidence in at this point. Maybe Miller? Only against lefties, obviously.

I don't know if you all have seen this or not, but this is an absolutely amazing picture.

are baseballs supposed to get flattened like that when they're hit, or did albert's greatness break the ball?

Yeah, pretty much only Trevor Miller, although I've been very impressed with Hawksworth. Hopefully Smoltz and Franklin can be relied upon in the bullpen this postseason, or it may get ugly.

Looks like your Cardinals will be coming to LA to start the playoffs. I hope we do a little better than we did in the regular season.

Gonna be interesting as both teams are limping down the stretch. Must say I would've preferred to play the Dodgers now rather than the Rockies even though the latter would've meant home field.

...and the Cardinals are swept by the Brewers to end the regular season.

I thought for sure Pujols would get to 50 HR after he hit #47 on September 9th, but he didn't hit another one all season.

Ouch... tough loss. The Matt Holliday error was surprising... the Ryan Franklin imposion was not.

Good luck to the Dodgers in the NLCS.
