The Cards are so sporadic. It's not good for my blood pressure some days. It's great for it on days like today when we bat everyone in the 1st inning against a rival

Always a good day when the opposing starter gets the ol infinity sign for his ERA that day.

Even better when it's a small bear it happened to.

My hatred of the Cubs rivals that of Alabama and Florida.

I'm hoping that they have finally gotten out of their slump at the plate. I'm still not sold the Reds are going to hang around all year, but they are going to be a bigger threat than I thought, esp if Penny is out too much longer.

Nice article in the post-dispatch today saying Haren would like to play in St. Louis again.

I'll actually be up there Saturday. Looks like I'll get to see Carp pitch.

All right, I'm officially concerned.

This team is not that good. Ryan, Schumaker and Molina are borderline terrible at the plate. I don't get it. Skip is a career .290ish hitter. Molina brokethrough with great numbers last year. I am afraid the McGwire as hitting coach experiment is failing terribly. This team has regressed at the plate this year.

Something has to change and in a hurry. I thought the Reds would fade away but they don't seem willing to do it and look like they will be aggressive before the trade deadline.

I'm not sure I want them to be. This team isn't good enough to make the Series and quite honestly I'm not up for trading prospects for a division title or wild card birth and then early exit. Unless they can get rid of some B-level prospects for a good bat or decent starter, just stand pat.

And Penny has a rehab setback. All the more reason not to move.

Felipe Lopez should know that you don't need to give the team leading the division anymore motivation than they already have. Dumb move on his part.
