Official Thread of the St. Louis Cardinals

Time to start thinking trade deadline.

IMO, Cards need to bring in a third starter that won't require trading away the entire farm system. Not sure who that guy is right now, but McCllean back to the bullpen would help a lot.

Time to let the Cubs find out the expensive way? If his agent asks for more than a three year deal or close to 30 mil per I'd tell him happy trails. His actual age is a mystery, he's projected to have his worst year in the big league's and could be trade bait (if and only if) the team falls out of wild card contention before Labor day.

Agree. Trade him for some great value, and close this chapter of your teams lives. The Cubs. Lol. They will really think it's their year if they can scoop him up.

The Reds and Cardinals are both going to look around in mid August and kick themselves for not burying Milwaukee when they had the chance.

I can't imagine how bad their regression is going to be. Seriously, Lohse has no business pitching as well as he has, and Westbrook just isn't that good.

I think lohse can hold on to get to the 13 win marker.

Westbrook? Who the heck knows. If he's getting grounders he's unhittable. If he's like last night then well, you know. Look at his lines for the year. Not a more inconsistent starter in baseball.

Cards need to trade for a starter to stay in this though.

What the f?

That game went 13? How?

Pretty amazing comeback. Finally started hitting the ball from the 6th on (I think it was the 6th that they got 2 and 5 in the 7th...may be off on the innings). Sure could use Wainwright right about now.

Somehow tied for first at the break. This team needs a another starter asap.

Same story as always. It sucks to have the offensive power and can't take advantage of it. One more good starter and we could compete. But we also need better help from the Bull pen.

They are up to 16 total.

Westbrook is the most up and down pitcher I beleive I've ever watched on the major league level. 90 pitches and 3 hits through 8 innings today. Who knows if he'll even make it through 3 innings his next start.
