Official Thread of the St. Louis Cardinals

Wow, this is unbelievable. Braves are really handing this playoff spot to us on a silver platter.

I believe this would fall into the category of on a silver platter, with a butler, a maid, a busboy and a designated driver to get you home. Not to take anything away from the Cards because they have played very well the past 3 weeks . . . but I've never seen a team suddenly lay down like the Braves have for the past month.

Honestly, it's pretty hard to watch. I'm stunned. Although I am a Cardinals fan, and couldn't be happier for them, the Braves are my 2nd team. I feel heartache for them, especially Chipper. The pitching just completely shutdown at the wrong time. Even if they do make it into the playoffs they will most certainly be swept by Philly (if that's who they'd play). IMO the Cards would take 1 game. Either way, I don't think either team makes it past the 2nd round. Both are gassed.

I'd say the Red Sox are about as bad.

Which braves? Atlanta or boston?

It is pretty striking that two teams are doing it at the same time. This is the kind of collapse that you see once every 20 years.

Agreed. Bud selig must have the biggest tent pitched right now.

Meanwhile over at espn...everyone is on suicide watch.

I thought the commentator for the Braves game just said that the game would be played in Atlanta.

??

I'll go with that then.

I am pretty sure he just said something along the lines of "Fans are hoping for a home win and they'll be hoping for one more if they hold on"

I am honestly stunned that they caught the Braves

The last few weeks have me in complete disbelief. I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this in September.

I'm ecstatic, but for whatever reason this team just doesn't feel like a playoff team.

Same feeling from 5 years ago.
