I was about to make a post to say that Cardinals fans need to hold off from overreacting because they won two World Series with Pujols, but it wouldn't be of much use.
Tear down the statue. Anyone who doesn't have true Cardinal blood is an enemy. All he cared about was the money. He just spit in the face of every single person involved with the organization and the fans.
He wasn't our sole reason for winning those 2 world series. He was a big part, but it's not like Albert carried this team. STL gave the world to him, he had the best fans in baseball and just kicked dust in everyone's face for $30 million more dollars. He is officially the LeBron of MLB.
This is a bunch of garbage. The MLB Players Union has alot more pull with these guys that you think they do. He would have been destroyed among the players for not maximizing ever penny he could get. No doubt it's a problem but it's also reality.

Garbage. They wanted him to take a hometown discount at 9yrs/198mil before the season.
You should be more mad at other teams such as Philly who are paying Howard 25mil per year and baseball in general.
He's right. There's no way the MLBPA was going to let him turn this deal down. Yeah it sucks for St Louis but nobody walks away from $30 million and it's nuts to act indignant about it.It's Albert Pujols for crying out loud. You think some union is putting a gun to his head telling him to choose the Angels? He can do whatever he wants and he took the money.
Nice edit btw.
But they still manned up and threw 10yr/220m at him. $30 million really meant that much more to him? He has been a Cardinal for 10 years. And of course they were gonna initially offer him the 9yr/198m contract. There was a lot of uncertainty during last season's dead period with all of his injuries last seasons.

That is how I feel about it.No one loves the Cards more than me. And I'd have loved to have Albert but at the end of the day it's a business. He wouldve been crazy to turn down 250 million over 10 years. It sucks but the guy did the right thing and the Cards did the right thing for not matching that amount.
Good luck to him unless he plays the Cards.
