Official Thread of the St. Louis Cardinals

I went tonight. Not a good outing for Memphis. Although we tickets in a suite, so that made up for the loss. :)

I didn't know they'd gotten Wong some time at short.

Beltran is playing great, but even if they did sign him, it'd be for only a year or maybe two tops. He's 36 year old. They may want to see how he holds up in the 2nd half of the season.

If Adams is ready, I'd be for putting Craig in right and playing Adams at first. Taveras....I don't know. Even without Beltran there's not really a spot if you want to play Adams and Craig. Jay's not a bad player though. Pretty good in center and been a good hitter. Having an off year at the plate this season. Freese looks expendable maybe since Carpenter is playing like a champ.

Good to get the sweep. The ASG break is coming at the right time. Yadi and the Pen could use a break.
But it's good to be tied for 1st again.

It's weird to see the top 3 records in the NL coming from the central. My prediction is the Pirates will repeat their 2nd half fallout again this year and it will be a reds/cards fight.

I'm not gonna count out any of the 3. The Bucs seem more balanced than in the past few years.

I noticed Descalso's been getting a lot of time at short recently.....

Giving Kozma a break or something else?

I thought they were going to sit him a few days after that 0-17 slump. Seems like more than that, though. I don't mind DD in the lineup more.

And Wigginton and Boggs gone in the same day = addition by subtraction.

Of course I'd love to see him back. He was a machine for years. But I'm not holding out much hope we see him this year.
