Official Thread of the St. Louis Cardinals

I think mozeliak screwed up trading miller for someone we'll have one year. We traded from a position of weakness and any outcome other than a World Series win makes it a bad trade. I agree I don't think we'll re-sign heyward. im guessing he'll want more than he's worth.

Not sure who's a free agent next year.

So much for all the Heyward MVP conversations. It was inevitable. J-Hey is a bust.

I love Heyward. I think it's obvious that he'll never be a great offensive player, but he's definitely above average. And his defense speaks for itself.

I would like to resign him, but it depends on what the cost would be. He's still 26 years old.

I agree. He's a really good not great ball player.

I wouldn't have a problem if the Cards offered him 7 years/135-145 million this winter. Lock up a Piscotty/Grichuk/Heyward outfield for 4-5 years assuming Holliday is gone after next year.

I also would like to keep Jaime Garcia if possible, but due to his injury history the team may not want to. If he is healthy he is ridiculous.

The NLC has 3 teams that would win the NL East and the NL West, and I will wager now that one of those teams will be representing the NL in the World Series.

Heyward will not be worth what he is commanding. He's young and coming into his prime, but he's not worth the overpay, at least to me.

That sweep in Arizona was huge. I think Holliday, Adams, Jay, and Grichuk should all be coming back this month as welp, which will help a ton.

And somehow Pete Kozma, the worst player in the majors, has been on the roster this whole time. Does he have nudes of Matheny?

Moss and Reynolds are starting to hit...

This team has offense. Not power offense like Toronto but they can score runs.

This could be fun down the stretch.

This team would have to finish under .500 to not reach 100 wins. I would think 100 wins clinches the division.

Who would have guessed before the season that Garcia would be the anchor to give us consistency in the rotation?

Please keep Jay away from the starting lineup. Send Kozma down to AAA. If Moss is still raking, things will get interesting with the postseason roster. Hell, it's already interesting.

Probably too much to hope the Buccos can win against Arrieta in the WC game. I feel much better about our chances vs. Pittsburgh than Chicago.

Martinez shut down for the season with a shoulder injury. I guess that settles the question of who the odd man out is for the playoff rotation.
