Molinas value is as a C

Yup. Once he loses his defensive value he won't be that much anywhere else.

Holliday should be at first base yesterday, especially if they plan to keep Heyward.

I wonder if Holliday or Molina would at least consider transitioning to 1B in the future?

Molina's offensive production would be lacking at first and you lose his game-changing presence at catcher. He could do it, but the benefit doesn't outweigh the cost.

I think Holliday would be a pretty bad first baseman defensively. He also doesn't seem very comfortable with the idea.

Interesting (and ridiculous) stat: The last time the Cards were swept in a series of three games or more was by the Braves from July 26-28, 2013.

Freese peaked in the 2011 playoffs.

Absolutely. His 2012 season was so disappointing. Not because the fans were expecting him to continue the success he had in the 2011 postseason. Even he admitted himself that his performance that postseason was an outlier. Freese didn't even play like his normal self in 2012.

Freese was actually an all-star in 2012, and a lot of people were saying his postseason run wasn't a fluke. Then his 2013 was atrocious, and his performance in LA still isn't very good.

Bourjos is just a bench player/defensive replacement at best because he can't hit, but we're winning that trade on the strength of Grichuk alone. He hits the cover off the ball.

This division race is going to get very close. Wong and Peralta have been terrible lately, and we're now starting Moss, Reynolds, and Pham every day.

Haven't seen anything about Heyward's injury.

I'm just hoping we can hang in there until we get healthy. I don't care if we get the 2nd WC or win the division. Get healthy and I think we'll make a run like we always do.

If they don't resign JHey, which I don't think they will, they better spend on some offense. Or trade some pitching.
